Packers coach Mike McCarthy stated Monday that Jordy Nelson (hamstring) was "real close" to playing in Week 8 against the Jaguars.

"We worked him out before the game yesterday, so he's close," McCarthy said. Nelson has never had a hamstring injury during his playing career, so the Packers don't have a great feel for how his body would react. We'll know more this week when the team resumes practice. Green Bay hosts Arizona in Week 9.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Jordy Nelson looked like his "normal self" in Wednesday's practice, and should play against the Lions.

It sounds like Nelson got in a full session, though the Packers have yet to release official word. Barring a setback, however, we now know he'll be good to go against the Lions. Even coming off injury, Nelson is locked in as a WR1 for Week 11.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy didn't update Jordy Nelson's (hamstring) status at Monday's press conference.

McCarthy expects to have a "better handle" on his star receiver's status when the Packers return to practice on Wednesday. Nelson didn't come close to suiting up for Sunday's win over the Bears, and should be considered questionable at best for Week 16.

Jordy Nelson (hamstring) missed practice again Thursday.

Nelson hasn't practiced since pulling his hamstring against the Vikings in Week 13. Given the tricky nature of the injury and the Packers' depth at wideout, we wouldn't be surprised if Nelson is held out until the playoffs.
