So if he missed that shot somehow Lebron is magically not as good as a player the moment the ball bounces off the rim?
lol

I think it would be because it would be the 5th Finals that Lebron would have lost. Lebron can't have it both ways. He self promotes and tries to make everything about him. If you're going to act that way, be prepared for the scrutiny, deserved or not.

As if the Cavs lost the game? Absolutely has an impact either way.

Resume wise it does, but does it change the intrinsic value of the player? Not really. Just the perception based on the final result.

I guess it goes back to the Churchill quote "History is written by the victors."

Kobe said that in an interview once. Smart way to think, you don't hear anyone saying he forced his way to LAL at 18 or forced a trade when the Lakers weren't winning, because in the long run all anyone really remembers is how much you won.

This new trend where every time a basketball or football team wins they have to be the best ever at something is a little annoying. Media (in particular the mouth breathers at ESPN) loves getting as much mileage as possible out of these questions because they can never be definitively answered.

Seahawks, Broncos....Best D ever?
Brady, Manning...best QB ever?
Warriors...best team ever?
LeBron....best player ever?

People just need to let that stuff breath. Even if you know the answer you can't even make any money off that shit unless you find a way to invent time travel, which is a lot more difficult than it looked in Back To The Future.

I think Jordan had a better shot than Lebron. But that doesn't make him better. Lots of people have better shots than both Jordan and Lebron (Curry?)

But Lebron is such an all around beast I don't see how anyone takes him. If I'm drafting and I could choose any player to have on my team their entire career I choose Lebron and I think anyone that wouldn't is foolish. Such a game changer and so adaptable

Greatest of all time? I don't think so! IMO Jordan has less haters than Lebron. Stats of both players may match of LBJ may have better stats than MJ at some point but when it comes to "charm" and "likeability", Michael Jordan beats Lebron big time and I believe personality should also be accounted for when trying to determine who's best among players.

Anyone who is old enough to see both play SHOULD know that there is simply no comparison & Michael Jordan is head & shoulders the greatest basketball player ever & that he's in a league of his own.

Some people seem to think that just because LeBron James is a great all-around player, that it makes him better than Jordan.

If you want to consider all areas, mainly scoring, rebounding, assists, then Larry Bird was a better all-around player than Michael.

But does that make Bird the BETTER player over Jordan?

Of course it doesnt.

Same applies to LeBron James.

LeBron is in the same great category as Bird, Magic, Shaq, and others.

Michael stands alone period.

Michael would have easily averaged 40+, maybe even 50, in a series against this Warriors team in a league which caters to the offense today, while it was just the opposite when Jordan played & defense was the specialty.
Michael was double& triple teamed nightly & still dominated.
LeBron would not bully his way to the lane back then like he does today.

This is fact whether you like it or not, about the difference in the game today.

So, to sum it all up, a guy who can put up a triple double doesn't necessarily make him a better player than the next...

Lol at how everyone is all about the recency effect.

MJ was better.

Remember all those years Lebron crumpled under the pressure of big games in the 4th quarter? MJ used to feed off that pressure.

I remember watching him as I grew up hit big shot after big shot. Game on the line, give it to MJ, it's over now.

Not to mention teams were more physical in the 90s and the game was different.

Lebron is great and extremely talented but give me MJ in his prime.

I'm so sick and tired of people undermining MJ... if you compare MJ to LBJ I take it as an insult. They are not on the same league.

Again, even commenting in this thread implies that I am dumb - but I wanted to add one thing - they say Jordan has 6 rings - um, ok - he has 8 if he was not bored of basketball and wanted to give baseball a shot
