So because it is only once in a blue moon that I like to play road favs nor do I like to co-op Fishsticks..er picks, I have some explaining to do and I better have a good case, eh? I add that in honor of the SickOne himself who may be the only person up there to know the Expos are even playing tonight. All eyes will be riveted on Canadiens tonight my friends including our own Fishhead's in the battle with his Bruins. Home Advantage you say...well maybe...I don't know. I sense this will really be a Marlin home game. So I dismiss the home fav thing. OK then upon further review....
Let's first look at the Marlins 4 game win streak. Yes they take it away from home...from hot to hotter, but wait...we see the Expos with a .198 batting average and more importantly 10 runs scored in 6 games. Marlins hitting .287 with 21 runs in 6 games. The Puerto Ricans as much as they love beisbol have got to be getting sick of that kind of crap and the dregs being offered to them. Seems each year there is a club such as Detroit [last year mind you...I got Bonderman tonight] which reeks havoc with the home dog win percentages. Welcome to this year's probable offensive nightmare and most likely candidate to do so.
So lets look at tonight's pitchers then. We have Vargas. Good first start....I'll give him that along with his 1-2 lifetime 8.10 vs the Fish. Not our Fish, but even he could probably hit Vargas should he [Fish not Vargas] be wearing teal.
We have Penny. Good first start, excellent last three outings in the Spring, and BTW lifetime 11-3 2.26 vs Montreal.
I am also leaning towards Milwaukee where I see about even pitching matchups but a big gap in overall team quality. Here though we have a legitimate home team. I might yet play it as it does offer some value but if I do I won't put it in here cause that would look kind of Fishy.

Fish is getting to be a close friend of mine and we goodnaturedly give each other the needle at times in the spirit of competition. My post above was written in that kind of spirit, but damn it for some reason I thought he had the Marlins also. Otherwise nothing I wrote makes any sense.
I left the post up because it is a pick that I have an opinion about that I feel like sharing. FWIW.
Just want to make sure everyone realized that I wasn't being a jerk in regard to Fish. He is a great guy and I truly do admire his capping ability. Won't know as much he knows about this business in this or any other lifetime.

Kicking myself in the ass here. Almost pulled the trigger on the overnights. It was -126 for the game and for sure I should have. I was on Florida yesterday with an easy win. Don't see anything changing here. Expos still hitting with rolled up Sporting News'. Hate run lines but if Marlins win this one they should win big. And they should win it. Again I should repeat, I see no home advantage here. But giving up that run is a surefire way to get burned in the long run. I suggest no one get in the habit of doing so.

This game I liked yesterday [rainout] and I like it even more today. Two reasons...#1 upon discussion it received a very strong Fishhead endorsement at the Florida RX meeting last night. #2 Padilla's Home/Day record 3-7 3.63 as opposed to 16-6 2.36 Home/Night. We like Acevido and that the Philly bats are asleep. Very good spot for Cicinnati here. But remember if you bet this game we are dealing with a big road dog so be wise and protect your unit. GL

This game I liked yesterday [rainout] and I like it even more today. Two reasons...#1 upon discussion it received a very strong Fishhead endorsement at the Florida RX meeting last night. #2 Padilla's Home/Day record 3-7 3.63 as opposed to 16-6 2.36 Home/Night. I never stepped on the white line when I jogged on and off the field; never put my right sani sock on first. I played ball at a relatively high level... got payed for it. The few times that I accidentally or absentmindedly did things like that, I knew I would probably strike out or hit into a 6-4-3 if someone was on first. And I did. Damn it. I knew I would be doomed and I was.
Taking the socks off and starting all over again or going back and jumping to and fro across the line like some phucking fairy if I absentmindedly stepped on the line just never worked [and that really looked gay too].
Had a nice long hitting streak going one year barman. Did not wash my jock and just kept hitting and hitting. Then I got crotch rot and had to wash the jock... real painful case...could hardly walk and couldn't start....but skip pinch hits me that first night. Three pitch K. End of hitting streak. Wash the jock...hitting streak ends. See what I mean.
