When asked about Dorenbos’ condition on Friday morning, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said he wasn’t aware of the long snapper’s situation.

The Eagles traded Dorenbos, the longest-tenured member on Philadelphia’s roster at the time, to the Saints last week in exchange for a seventh round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. For what it’s worth, my understanding is that the Eagles would have cut Dorenbos this summer because Rick Lovato beat him out fair and square (long snapper metrics such as the speed of the snap, etc.). That’s what I heard shortly after Dorenbos was traded last week.
