poor bastard!
Politicians love to play to local crowds by jumping on the bandwagon of area sports teams. That can get tricky, however, on a whirlwind political campaign that might sweep through several states in a single day. Last Sunday, for example, John Kerry told a crowd that he was a big supporter of "Buckeye football." Unfortunately for Kerry, he was speaking in Taylor, Mich., and not Bowling Green, Ohio, where he had been earlier in the day. As the boos rained down, the candidate quickly realized his mistake and sent a belated shout-out to the Wolverines.
