If you asked them to articulate what the Gov't is doing wrong or why we could do better in certain areas or how to fix it, I mean they would be pretty clueless. They mostly just like saying talking points like "All politicians suck" or "We need small government", once you ask them what they would like to see happen you quickly realize that unless we pull a really good candidate out of our ass here soon, we're almost better off letting the lobbyists run things.

PatsFan, I'm sure we could agree on more than we disagree. The Sheriff, however, doesn't want ANY govt. He is exactly like you just said above: CLUELESS.

His solution is "get rid of the govt." That's his first and ONLY plan. He doesn't want to "fix" anything. He wants nuke it. That's not American. It's supposed to be Govt of, for, and by the people. In his jacked up world, we don't need a govt. We don't need any regulations on business. We don't need any for education or anything else for that matter. THAT is LITERALLY what he thinks.

I agree that we need a REALLY GOOD candidate and that doesn't exist at the moment. I agree MANY things need to change. The answer is not and never will be what whack jobs like Sheriff subscribe to.

Remember: He said Ted Cruz is a "communist" compared to what "needs" to happen. That's why I said he's an Anarchist. Ted Cruz at least wants a limted Govt. Sheriff Joe is the walking definition of clinically insane.

Yes, you are right. texasfan and others have said it many times: things are probably too late to correct. Politically the country is doomed - way too many powerful special interests tugging the system in every direction blocking real reform. The government can't/won't even seal the borders and stop this illegal invasion.

Not the way the system was designed to work but it is what it is...

Well to clarify, I am still very bullish on the future barring large scale military conflict.

Just was making the point your avg citizen is clueless as to what ails us. Most just buy into the polarized political environment that has been on steroids the last 10-15 years now. This is why during debates there is no mention of monetary policy or Gov't debt bubbles in our staple industries, etc

This is why I like Rubio, because for whatever flaws he has, I think he can do a much better job at articulating the solutions than the rest of the field.
