Man, it tore me up when I heard about The Death of Jim Phillips, who had done the radio play by play for The Clemson Tigers for over 36 years. Man if you ever heard this guy...you know he was great!
If you never got a chance, you really missed out!
Oh, he was always on top of things!
What a great guy...he will be missed greatly!

How will this affect Clemson vs Middle TN State this saturday??

Will it give them motivation to win big for Jim or will there be a let down!??!

The passing of Jim Phillips is huge news here in the Upstate. In my opinion, from listening to the Clemson station (the only sports talk here in Greenville) as that this may go a long way to bringing the Clemson family together and motivating the team.

As you can imagine, there has been a lot of ire directed toward Coach Bowden and his staff. The events of this week have at least silenced the talk radio critics for a while.

I remember listening to him do the '77 Georgia game, in particular.... And the '80 Georgia game....

It will be interesting to see the effect this has on the team.

Yeah, Tigernet's been focused on this tragic news. I'm 38, and he did the games for 36 years, so he's all I ever knew. It's hard to forget those games before everything was televised -- to this day I've never seen that two-point conversion Dooley tried form the eight yard line in '77. And I probably never will. I'll just remember Jim's call....

This Saturday, I like Auburn. And USC/UGA under, Ark/UT over, Fresno/OU under, Northwestern, Troy State, and UConn and a few others.

But mostly Auburn.

In the NFL, Dallas under, GB, GB/Det under, and Detroit team total under. The Dallas under fits in a 37-0-5 and a 35-1-3 subset of a genarl 68-26-5 under sitauation, and the Detroit under fits in a couple of subsets of that 68-26-5 angle.
