Rockies +190: 1 unit to win 1.9. As this line seems to have peaked and is starting to drop again, I'll take the +190 while it's on the table. There's just not a huge gap between these two clubs and the pitching matchup doesn't justify this line being at almost 2 to 1.

White Sox +148: 1 unit to win 1.48. While I will be riding the Tigers a lot this year (when the price is reasonable), I think this line is inflated and people are giving Galarraga too much credit too soon. The White Sox are playing well and are certainly worth this price.

BOL.

Red Sox -111: 1.11 units to win 1.
Yankees -114: 1.14 units to win 1.

I may have a couple for tonight but am going to watch the lines a bit. Good luck.

2-1 this afternoon pending the Yankees.

Padres +168: 1 unit to win 1.68. All reports I've heard thus far say that Perez's stuff just isn't there. I'll continue to fade him at juicy prices, even if the whole world assumes that the Mets just have to get a win in their new ballpark.

Marlins +157: 1 unit to win 1.57. I love the Marlins as such a big dog. People seem to think Derek Lowe is all of a sudden an elite starting pitcher, and although I've had lots of respect for him for years, I do not believe he merits this price against one of the better teams in baseball. Chipper is out of the lineup tonight and I think this line is simply inflated based on a current misperception of Lowe.

Twins -145: 1.45 units to win 1. I didn't want to pay quite this much, but I really like Baker and still think there's some value in this line. If Toronto hadn't started off with 5 wins in 6 games (which doesn't mean much to me) and if Baker had started opening day as planned, this line would certainly be 15 points higher.

May add 1 or 2 more, but still debating. BOL tonight.

Rangers -114: 1.14 units to win 1.
Dodgers -155: 1.55 units to win 1.

I'm a bit nervous playing this many games today but I feel like I have a good read on teams right now. We'll see. BOL to everyone.

Overall: 17-14 for +3.42 units.

I will be on the Braves this afternoon. I've been waiting all morning for the line to drop and it's finally starting. Currently down to -126. I'll post my number within the next 10 minutes or so. Still looking at the other early games.

Thanks PF. I've been happy to take the Fish as big dogs the past couple days but I think the value is on the Braves today with the cheap price. I just don't see this as a good spot for Sanchez and think that Kawakami will give the young Marlins' bats trouble today.

Braves -123: 1.23 units to win 1. This seems to be about as good as the line is going to get.

Astros/Pirates over 9, -110: 1.1 units to win 1. I don't typically play over/unders, but I'll throw one out for this afternoon. I think we'll see some fireworks in this matchup with two pitchers making their season debuts, with one who hasn't pitched since 2007.

I had been checking out that +210 on the Indians all morning and missed my chance. Probably for the best. Now I'm rooting for the Yanks so I don't end up kicking myself.

Cardinals +105: 1 unit to win 1.05.

Season Record:

2 Unit Plays: 1-0 for +2 units.

O/U Plays: 0-0-1 for +0 units.
Overall: 18-18-1 for -0.04 units.

If I had more discipline I would have laid off last night. Live and learn. Hopefully I can move on from a bad day. It's like opening day all over again.

Marlins -126: 1.26 units to win 1.

I like a lot of what I see on the card today. Will see how many I pull the trigger on.

I hate the feeling that I'm missing something with a game, but I really don't understand why the line on the Marlins is so low. I'm going to go with my gut and made it a 2 unit play. The first unit was at -126 and it's currently -124 so I'll call it a 2 unit play at -125. I think I'll also be playing both dogs this afternoon but am waiting to see if the the lines inch higher.

Marlins -125: 2.5 units to win 2.

GL to you today. Just FYI in case you didn't realize that Lohse isn't pitching today for StL, replaced with a rookie making 1st start (Walters). Although, I don't know why Cubs is that heavy of a favorite so I'd not blame you on the StL pick.

Yeah, I checked out Walters this morning and like what I've seen so far. In 3 minor league seasons he put up a 3.55 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and an 8.8 K/9. He put together a great spring this year and put up 7 innings only allowing 2 hits and 0 runs in his first AAA start this year. He'll have a tough first test with the Cubs lineup, but the Cards are playing better ball right now and the price was too much to pass up. BOL today man.

Ouch. Oh well, I can't help but feel good after this type of 0-2 afternoon. It took last minute comebacks from both huge favorites to kill a profitable afternoon, but it helped build a bit of confidence going into tonight.

Texas -105: 1.05 units to win 1.
White Sox +180: 1 unit to win 1.8.
Blue Jays -140: 1.4 units to win 1.

I have a lean on the Braves, but I'm not sure if I'll pull the trigger. BOL tonight.

Yesterday turned out pretty poorly. I got unlucky in a few games but I also got very lucky in the Marlins game. Moving on to today ... I'm gonna mix things up a bit.

Pirates -1.5, +170: 1 unit to win 1.7.
Marlins -1.5, -110: 1.1 units to win 1.
Mets -1.5, +115: 1 unit to win 1.15.
Yankees -1.5, +140: 1 unit to win 1.4.

No time to post my updated record but I'm in the range of -3 units on the year after yesterday. BOL.
