The Jets ahould be able to win the battle of the trenches in this one. With an above average o-line, the Jets will run the ball effectively using both Martin and Lamont Jordan. The game plan will be conservative, with Vinny using a short controlled passing game, but taking several shots downfield deep to stretch the defense. The Skins d-line is suspect but their linebackers are very good. The Jets wont break off long runs but should be able to consistantly pound the ball. The skins offense has lots of question marks and with Ramsey starting the NFL season off under the lights on National TV, I see him getting rattled. The skins center - a crucial position - has been banged up all preseason and will be making his first appearance in quite a while. The Jets pass rush and advantage on the d-line will make things difficult for the skins.
Take the Jets and the points. This may even get to 3 1/2 some places. The public is all over the 'Jets losing the heart of their team to the skins" philosophy. Don't buy into it.
