everyone and their mother on fla here jet...I like fl also but the game they lost was to a good def in misst...i see this as a definate over 51 wager but not taking either team right now...good luck..:toast:
That's exactly why they will win this game (not saying they will cover necessarily). They lost to a good defensive team, Ole Miss, yet still scored 30 points. They also scored 56 on what was the best defense in the SEC, USCe. If they can score 30+ on Alabama, do you think Alabama can score more than that on the Gators, who have one of the nation's best defenses themselves? Bottom line, Florida can score against top defenses, but can Alabama?
Also, Alabama's ppg stat is misleading. Both Alabama and Florida have given up 10 or less points 7 times.
However the teams that couldn't score more than 10 on Alabama were:
Auburn, Miss St, Tenn, Arkansas St, W Kentucky, Tulane, and Clemson.
The teams that couldn't score more than 10 on the Gators were:
S Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, Arkansas, Tenn, Miami, and Hawaii.
Not a HUGE difference, but obviously favors the Gators IMO.
Of all their common opponents (6), only Ole Miss scored more on the Gators.
And finally, although this is a weak point, the fact is: The Gators have won their last 8 games by AT LEAST 28 points and the margin of victory spread for their 11 wins has been 23-58. Almost every game this season there has been a ton of mop-up work by the back-ups who have given up a bunch of 3rd and 4th quarter points. To be honest I haven't watched enough of Alabama to know if that is the case or not for the Tide, just saying.
Again, I'll probably stay away from betting this line and just enjoy the game, because there so little value here. I wouldn't want to bet against either team. The scoreboard will favor the Gators in the end though, and I will be :drink:
