It is looking more and more that the jags will cut Mark Brunell on monday. He was shopped to the Jets,Cowboys, and Ravens. No one will take him due to a salary cap of 6.25 million. The backups are second year David Garrard and rookie first round Shawn Leftwich. If Brunell is dumped then the Jags will be a lot worse than anticipated. Playing Under 6.5 or 7 games for the season might be profitable. I liked Carolina -3.5 for the first game even with Brunell playing so I have to like it a little more without Brunell. GL to us all. I heard the opposite. They won't cut him unless someone else takes him because its too late to get someone else to fill his spot and the money is shot either way. Leftwich's holding out for so long killed any chance he had to contribute in the first half of this season and you can't go into a season with one QB that is capable of handling your system. If they keep him they will certainly start him and try to showcase him if they really do want to trade him, but its just too hard to go into a season without backups with the way QBs get hurt these days, or so the thinking goes that I read elsewhere.

Wild Bill, owner Wayne Weaver was really pissed that Jimmy Smith was suspended for positive test of drugs. He feels that without Smith they have no chance of winning and the rebuilding will begin sooner than later. If Brunell is cut they will save about 3 million in salary this year but will have to eat 3 million in cap money. If Brunell goes, look to see them cut Jimmy Smith when he comes back from 4 game suspension. Brunell is very popular here and the fans are up in arms about the possibility of him being cut. The Jags will be a bad team even with Brunell.
