According to CNN, Jack Smith has asked for a court order that will prevent Trump and his attorneys from revealing documents presented to them in the discovery process. All I can say is that this will be a hoot.

This will drive Trump to further heights of insanity.

CNN — Special counsel Jack Smith’s team is asking the judge in the classified documents case against Donald Trump to bar the former president and his defense team from publicly disclosing some of the materials shared in the criminal case as part of the discovery process.

In a new filing on Friday, Smith’s team said that among the unclassified materials that prosecutors are set to turn over to the defense is “information pertaining to ongoing investigations, the disclosure of which could compromise those investigations and identify uncharged individuals.”
The filing, which includes a proposed protective order, is an expected, procedural step now that Trump has entered his not guilty plea and the proceedings are moving forward. Lawyers for Trump and his co-defendant Walt Nauta do not oppose the requested protective order, according to the filing.

US District Judge Aileen Cannon, the Trump-appointed judge assigned to preside over the case, referred the matter to US Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart, citing local court rules. Reinhart approved the search warrant the FBI executed at Mar-a-Lago last year.

It looks like Cannon will rely upon Judge Reinhart about what to do with this request. And considering that Reinhart was the judge that OK’d the search warrant of Mar-a-Lago, I think Smith might just get what he wants. Also, there is that bit about “ongoing investigations.” A number of legal analysts were wondering who or what that might entail.
Frankly, I don’t know. But if those documents involve other investigations near and dear to Trump, can you imagine what his response will be? Mt. Trump will explode again spewing all kinds of deadly gases.
I’m sure Trump will scream that his freedom of speech rights are being violated by the big bad DEEP STATE!
The CNN article also states that this move by Smith will drive Republican Congressman Jim Jordan banannas. He’s been yelling that he wants to see all those government documents in any case involving Trump. I don’t know why Jordan just doesn’t say that he is also one of Trump’s defense lawyers. He’s only fooling some ignorant independent voters with this routine. The GOP base knows that Jordan is on Trump’s defense team, and any Democrat with half a brain also knows this.
Anyway, next week should be fun.
