I'm sure there are a few examples where it works out...but overall its a losing proposition by far...

Whoson1st, what was the story...I love a good gambler story?

I did a friend a favor. It was a one time thing. He was a very close friend. For him--I bet 6 college basketball games for a NICKLE each. They all won. (Keep in mind I was a 25 to $50 player).

Mad was mild for the description!

Obviously, this can't be recommended. But I was a $20 or $30 a game bettor last football season. I had an amazing run, and gradually uppped my bets to about $50 or $75. I was up $1500 at the end of the season, and bet all $1500 on Mich St -4.5 over Penn St. It was the weirdest line I had seen, and figured they would cover by 30. They did cover by 30, and because of that, I'm a sportsbettor, and no longer just a gambler. I said WTF one time, and it paid off.

Bottom Line You Gotta Bet Big To Win Big. Unless Your A Jackass And Bet Parlays Thats A Way To Go Broke. Also I Do Not Mean Parlays Where You Lay -300 And -300 I Mean Parlaying 2-6 Games. Also A Sure Way To Get Vigged To Death Do Not Bet The Side And Total On The Same Game. So Many People Do This I Don't Know Why.

When I am down like 3k with only a few games remaining for week I usually go all-in and bet the 3k to try and get even. I figure I will lose it anyway down the road so why not and I do well with pressure bets and the charge I get from the bet is electric and worth more than money.

I've written about money management enough times in these forums so no need to go there again. Just going to get to the bottom line. This business is not a sprint but a marathon and anyone who says or does bet their entire bankroll is chasing, period. Some may think they are professional but actions speak louder then words.

I agree with everything you said...but the fact of the matter is...I wouldn't be able to do this seriously if not for the times I was able to double up. Sure...eventually I would have built up a bankroll...but in order for me to build a bankroll in the first place...I had to roll the dice a few times. And it paid off big.

I'd never consider it anymore though... too much at risk now.

We are all truly fortunate to even have a bankroll. Don't throw that away in one day, let alone one game.

A wise man once told me that for most people the biggest bet they ever make will be a loser. This is because they will go all in for larger amounts until hey finally lose "the big one" .

Fish, I was at that game! Barely remeber it. Great tailgate party though.
