I'm meaning big bet, not big blind. The bet could be $100 or more in 1/2 NL, as opposed to the blinds in a limit game. It's a terminology issue,IMO. I think players talk of winning some many big bets an hour ( maybe 2, in a limit game), not the big blind size, say a 5/10 limit game... if you win $20 per hour at that... you are doing great.



i actually think they talk about winning x number of big blinds per hour .

Doug, that's the whole point. The phrase "big bet" comes from limit poker, but has no consistent meaning in no limit. So, to give it consistency, so that no-limit players can talk in terms of units instead of amounts, which provides consistency across game sizes, they talk in terms of big blinds, or PTBBs, poker tracker big blinds, which are 2x the bb. It's mostly only useful for comparing win rates.
