I know I am from Oklahoma but my view of St. Tebow is not a sour grapes thing at all. I just think that it is amusing that all the cameras were around when Tebow goes on a "mission." He craves attention and he appeals to religiously oriented people. Throw in the praise from TV announcers etc., and I think it just gets worse. If you play from hate, which I think he uses as a motivator (lots of athletes do - religious and otherwise) then you can get eatin up with it. Why doesn't anyone say he is obsessed with winning (which he is). His grand standing after the Mississippi game was laughable. Grandstanding, front runner all the attributes? of a Falwell.
All in the name of religion. I hope God does not favor Floridians over Okies. IT IS JUST A GAME FOR GOD'S SAKE.
I feel sorry for guys like Harvin (the real MVP) who are not front runners or need the attention. Athleticism is God given and can be honed and the way one accepts the laurels and or pitfalls is what defines the man. Tim Tebow will someday be just another player in the NFL (if he makes it). Will we never hear him praise God for that lesser role on national TV.
He is all about attention and he is in the lime light now. I will reserve my opinion of him somewhere down the road and under different circumstances.

Your first sentence gives it away. Its not sour grapes...well then why are you posting in every Gator or Tebow thread your tired lines about the kid craving attention. Why don't you go ask Percy Harvin how he feels about Tebow. He will tell you that he is the best leader and teammate a player could ask for.

As this forum can attest to there are no guarantees in sports betting, but I would bet my house that Tebow doesn't change a bit the type of person he is and what is important to him if he never plays a down in the NFL. He has character which people that don't have the slightest idea what that word means like to attack him for.

Percy Harvin is the perfect example of how a player should be. He does not need Tebow or his leadership as he will demonstrate in the NFL. Tebow is obsessed with winning and it is obvious to every non-gator in America. It is just a game but he has tried to make it his stage. It was pointed out above that no one ever gives credit for the fumble they just made. God does not intervene in football, national championships included. Who is the most out spoken QB in college football. Tebow.
It is not about religion it is about attention. He will be replaced and life will go on at Florida. Urban has proved to the world he can coach any team, any time, any where, with or without a Tebow. It is the system and the system will go on. I assure you I am not a sour grapes guy but I felt I had to point this out because I am from Oklahoma. Unlike the guy who said he knew he would win a Heisman the first time he saw him, I have always felt that he was a front runner. I was totally embassed by Billy Sims at the Heisman awards too. Okies have a long history of giving credit where credit is due and we do not have a problem giving cudos to our opposition. Meyer and Harvin are much more valuable to that team than Tebow.

Obsessed with winning? That, sir, is funny. Yeah, he needs to tone it down and not try to win so much. And when he gets excited, that must prove that his faith isn't genuine, because a true Christian would make sure that he didn't receive any attention during a football game.

What does front runner mean?
Thanks.

If Bradford had half of Tebow's heart you may have had a chance but not so much... If you honestly believe Meyer and Harvin are more valuable to the team than you a very ignorant individual.

Tebow almost beat you by himself... did you watch the game or were you on your cousin the whole time?

Do you even have to ask about the cousin thing? Bradford didn't know what to do once he got a grass stain on his uni from being sacked. That didn't happen except for back on October 11th, when Texas got to him. OU only had 2 hard games this year, and they lost them both.

Oh yeah, and as for God hating Oklahoma, I think he does. After all, God is a Longhorn. Why else is the Sunset Burnt Orange????? HOOK 'EM HORNS!

No one on any thread I have read that is not on the Tebow bandwagon has ever insulted the intelligence of those that were. If you think Tebow could have won without Meyer alone it is you SIR that has an IQ deficiency. I can assure you I do not and I have the degrees to prove it. But you SIR are the one who does not have half of Tebows heart much less IQ because you do not show any respect with those who disagree with you. You can worship the guy if you want but I and many others just don't think he is all that. Bradford did not lose that game for OU yet for some unforseen reason you have to put him down in the process of building up your boy. I don't get it. If you are dumb enough to write a reply like the one you did here maybe you are smart enough to understand that everyone is entitled to an opinion. The fact that Florida won does not bother me, in fact I exected it. I am from Oklahoma but perhaps because of that I knew their weaknesses too. I do know this, I did not see tebow doing the Gator sign during the first half. Perhaps that will give you a little insight into what a front runner really is. Do you just do the sign when you win. Good grief. I started a thread trying to put this whole thing to bed then I read your remarks. You sir are not smarter than a 5th grader (that means ignorant in academic circles).

I just started to a thread to try to put this whole Tebow thing to bed then I read this brilliant remark. You sir represent the worst kind of Tebow fan. You guys act like you have to defend him and run everybody else (like Bradford) down in the process. I have never been called ignorant before but I can tell you aren't smarter than a fifth grader yourself so I will consider the source. Lots of athletes have heart and I am sure that Bradford's heart is at least 2/3 of Tebows but who in fact cares. Why do you guys have to defend hims so? Because he did not win the Heisman. If they waited until the bowls were over he probably would have won it. So blame it all on Bradford and everyone who does not want to kiss Tebows butt. I like the kid but it is his supporters (including the media) that sicken people like me. I still do not recall him doing the alligator clap until they had the game put away. I sure did not see it in the first half. Read my thead. Nobody hates Tebow.

Didn't Tebow throw two interceptions against that Big 12 defense he thought was so horrible?

Bradford is great, Tebow is great, Graham Harrell is great, the list goes on and on.

You take any passing quarter back and take him away from the field for a month than you are going to be in trouble. Tebow is a running quarterback so the lay off did not affect him as much.. that is the only reason Florida won.

If you played the national championship game in the 2nd or third week of december than it could have been a different story. But who knows? That's what is wrong with this system. In my opinion the only deserving team for a national championship is Utah.

No, you're not ignorant... you're a dumbass.

You drone on and on about how Tebow did nothing. This makes you a complete dumbass!

Honestly... nobody gives a shit about your rhetoric blah blah blah that is clogging up our boards. You sound like a whiny bitch who's pissed that Tebow did WHATEVER HE wanted the entire second half... who gives shit about the Gator Chomp?? Does Colt give a hookem horns when they are scored on? No, he doesn't... go whine to somebody who gives a shit or maybe you should write Tebow a letter telling him you are a pussy and can't stand it that he is obsessed with winning, I'm sure he will see your point and will come to you for al his future decisions. And btw, looks like you're gonna have to deal with ass again next year...

You are the only one that seems to get the point. Of course you are about the only non Floridian reacting to this topic. I am not trying to make excuses for anyone and I do not hate Tebow but that is not enough for these Florida guys. I think Texas could take it all next year myself. If we can fix the system we can crown true champions. USC has a great team and so do others. Oh, but I forgot I am ignorant. Oh and you and I are not from Florida so we must be wrong or at least misinformed.

im not very big on religion, but when players thank god in post game interviews, i tend to think that they are thanking him for the abilities they have been blessed with rather than god wanted fl to win or the cards to win. Just showing appreciation for the talents they have.

I tend to agree with you, but it is kind of funny that I never hear a losing player thank God? :nohead:, Did Tebow thank god right after the Miss. game?:pope:
