Shotgun, as a war vetteran I do know what I am talking about DUMBASS. Why don't you show your ignorance and tell us what the missing man formation is used for MORE than the death of a fighter pilot. I did say mainly which means mostly dumbass.

Chuck, what is the deal with being a war veteran? Does that automatically give you some special knowledge that us lesser, peacetime veterans don't know?
The missing man formation is used to honor POWs, MIA, and just about high ranking government official (I think the official wording is 'dignitaries of the military and federal government'). Senators get one if asked. I saw one at Mel Carnahan's funeral when he was just the governor of Missouri. There was one for the kids that died in the Texas A&M bonfire, as well as the Columbine killings. You don't even have to die to have one...POW's often get one in ceremonies. They have them for Memorial Day shows, as well as various ceremonial events.
You see Chuck, being an admitted "war veteran" didn't make you any smarter. Have your facts ready before you throw out the DUMBASS comment.
