Is truth serum a myth?

Every now and then I hear people talking about it. I was always skeptical, but if it does exist, then why wouldnt the gov't use it, when interrogating. Then all this abuse wouldnt he happening.
So then it's probably just a fairy tale. No?

Was given sodium pentathol when i had a wisdom tooth removed.I was so high would have told anybody anything.But is no way fool proof.

It's a very tricky drug to administer. It can leave many subjects too loopy to address anything.

So, not a myth, but yes it's efficacy for obtaining truthful statments from someone who might otherwise lie has likely been exaggerated over the years via Hollywood and novels.
