I was a lot more offended by the blacks at the college in Georgia defacing and walking all over an American flag everyday, but that's just me.

If you saw what I quoted with my comment you would see "what I'm getting at."

Those kids stomping on the American Flag were given a free pass by most people (including most if not all on this site), but these kids take a picture with the Confederate Flag and it's an issue.

Guarantee you if black high school kids before a prom were taking pictures stomping on an American flag, it would be just as big of an "issue" as these kids with the confederate flag. It's all about context. The fact you guys can't see how high school kids posing before a prom with automatic rifles and a confederate flag doesn't have more shock value than some punk college kids stomping on a flag for a dumb reason... is pretty astonishing. I know you guys would love the ability to be racist without people caring... but it's most likely not going to happen any time soon.

No. Nothing in the flag symbolizes slavery. No more than the American flag does. This hypersensitivity and default apologetic mode people fall into is exactly why black folks behave the way they do. Your unnecessary white guilt in fact contributes to them not tipping you. You owe them because there's a chance your great great great great grandpappy owned their great great great grandpappy despite the truth that less than 2% of Americans owned slaves. Not your fault,that's how most Americans have been trained to feel.

Nothing in the flags design even hints at slavery. The 13 stars are for the 13 southern states. The X is the symbol that they wanted out of the union. "X us outta this shit". Succession was not about slavery but rather states rights.

I'm not from the politically correct crowd, so I don't judge kids for how they posed in a picture. My guess is since they're so young, they may not even understand how uptight some people are about racism.

It's harsh reactions to what may be a very innocent event that creates racism
