The bookies got the line just right on this one, total of 9, and the Yanks so heavily favorited that you couldn't really bet them. 7-2 NY, certainly about the expected score, but I'm not about to lay -370 on a baseball game on opening day, that is a late season sort of line ,and probably in the top ten all time for most lopsided lines regarding baseball. I can't think of any game that was higher than that off of top of my big head.
Does anyone have a record of how betting huge favorites like say -250 or more has worked out over time ? I'd bet it would be a huge net loser.
