I get my ass handed to me on one hand. Person was Big Blind and gets a straight with 8,10 unsuited as hole cards. No problem with that.

I go "all in" on a later hand before the flop with what I have left. Four people are in till the end. Nobody bets after my all in. I lose with my two pair Queens to the same person who also has two pair Queens with an Ace kicker. The Q on board was the highest card with a pair of 7's.

How does that person never bet with his two pair Queens????? It was up on the turn. It was like there was no reason for that person to bet.

Doesn't that sound not right??

Back when I use to play online poker I would always try to talk to them with the chat function to see if they would talk back. Bots dont talk. So this is one way I would try to find out.

If this was a tournament, it is the correct play (generally) to not bet when someone is all in. THe goal is to knock that person out. Happens all the time.

Tony I could guess one of two things--either he thought he'd have the best hand and was slow playing, or the more likely option is he didn't want more action and just wanted you out of the tourney so wanted everyone in

Wasn't a tournament.

He was the last bettor. How does he not put up a bet? He was playing smart for an hour and then that. It was very weird to me. He had to know nobody had three of a kind after three rounds of "not" betting.

Perhaps he figured he was good, but he didnt want to risk betting and get checkraised off the best hand by somone with trip 7's or someone who decides to try and bluff and check raise him all in.. Top pair Q's with an ace kicker is a nice hand, but not unbeatable.

I am still not sure why this is something a "bot" would do.

I am a firm believer that most sites if not all have bots...easiest way for a book to make $$ w/out much questioning from the bettor....JMO

There are a lot of angles that can go through someones head in every situation....never assume that they are all logical.

Because it didn't make sense that he wasn't betting. It was as if, he had all my money in the pot, what's the point of betting?

After two rounds of no betting, that person had to know he was in the drivers seat with his hand. There was no way someone had trip 7's and was being quiet that long.

Fat tony you never know what is going on with someone else. Maybe a misclick, maybe his wife was bothering him, or maybe he just felt like he was probably not going to get a call anyway and it wasnt worth a bet.

Never understimate your opponents stupidity:

This guy called with literally nothing (played the board). This guy lost about 1200 at this table before he finally went broke and left. Things happen all the time online that will make you shake your head.

One obvious explanation which no-one seems to have mentioned is that the guy was called away from the table and used the "check / fold everything" option.

This happens to me a lot though I would not be keen to do it on top pair and A kicker!

If he was playing multiple tables at once it's pretty easy to either get confused which game is which and make the wrong play, or simply misclick.

A robot which is programmed to play poker automatically. Personally I doubt if many of these are any good and am quite happy to come up against them.

However I mainly play sit and gos. If you are worried about bots I suggest you play these too. the continually changing strategy as people get knocked out or get near inflexion points would be too much for a bot to cope with.
