Is there any doubt in your mind Stanford is much better than MSU?

Iowa is a team one play away from playing for the National Championship and they got dismantled.

Yes, but they also lucked out and did not have to play the top 4 teams in the B10 East, by far the better division. That is why you need an 8 team playoff, because the conferences are too large and they play unbalanced conference schedules which really does not prove a "true" conference champion. If Iowa was in the B10 East no way are they going undefeated.

Saban would game plan mcCaffrey and shut him down....Then what does Stanford have?

Alabama would own Stanford....Easy win!

Good luck!

So, they will game plan for Watson and shut him down. Bama will own Clemson...easy win?

By far is a stretch, given the record West v East was 7-7.. But I do agree Iowa played a soft schedule and got both Wisconsin and Nebraska at the right time with coaching changes.

The game was more about how bad and overrated Iowa and the Big10 are (minus OSU and Mich). Stanford isnt a great team, probably not top 5, but they also played an awful team yesterday

Bad? No. Overrated? Probably. Don't lump them all together because of 1 performance. Florida, the SEC runner up, also got dismantled in its bowl game. Nebraska and Wisconsin went into the state of California and beat the top two programs in that state. Both were underdogs.

The east really was much better.

Next year Iowa gets all of the east power teams on the schedule.

I'm going to suggest Stanford is not Alabama and MSU is not Iowa

all the big bowls have been blowouts, they've sucked, and I don't think it's strictly about talent, it's some sort of aberration, the stars are not aligned

I'm blaming it on el nino

You sure it isn't George Bush's fault?
