Yep, this game seals the end of the Oregon era.... unless they fire the coach after this season and bring in someone real.

When a team that is year-in and year-out one of the best teams in football.... and then gets blasted at home by almost 50 points.

That's it.

I saw the same shit in the MSU game. Things were just not "right" with this Oregon team. I said it and then about 10 people jumped on my comments.... but the decline is real, gentlemen.

And it is the same with the 49ers. Who are those clowns running the 49ers right now? They fired one of the best coaches in the NFL and a guy that will be in the top 10 coaches of his era. Fucking morons.

And who is hiring these loser coaches at Washington? Oh yeah, Peterson has a 2000% winning percentage. BULLSHIT!!! He coached at BSU .... in the PAC10 he won't win shit and the Huskies won't win shit except maybe the ".500 Winning Percentage Bowl". Peterson aint doing shit.

Rule #1 for management in the NFL and CFB.... you want to win games, you hire a fucking winning coach who is a winner!

That's it. Now if you're a team-destroyer owner like Snyder, it doesn't matter what you do. You will destroy your own football team.

Now I'm going to try solve one of the greatest mysteries in the history of the world..... why is Lane Kiffin continually hired everywhere????

One down year and it's all over lol

It's not a down year. It's the end of an era. They will need to make some big changes if they want to get back to where they were.

Maybe a good comparison would be USC. Oregon didn't win the rings that Pete did, but they were there almost every single year. Now USC is a ridiculous joke compared to where they should be. And look at the clowns that they've brought in as coaches!

That's where Oregon is headed.

It happens in all sports in all markets. I watched the Kings go from a great team to trash, for example. But it is cyclical. For a long time the Royals were the laughing stock of baseball.

It is what it is.

Where have you gone Chip Kelly? If they lose next week at Colorado then all you homers can hit the panic button.

So if I live in Oregon, went to Oregon and I root for Oregon I and other fans are homers, I guess other fans of College teams aren't considered homers just Oregon fans.

Yep, you can see they are not the same. The last few games...even their wins have reminded me of the downfall of the Miami, Nebraska, Texas, Alabama eras. But still Oregon hasn't won a title. They will not be Top 5 again until they hire a REAL coach like Saban, Meyer, etc. I'll be the first to say it...Chip Kelly gets fired after the season and heads back to Oregon.

No, I'm saying you should be worried if you lose to Colo because they suck.

Do you have any idea how young this team actually is? They will only lose Marshall and possibly Addison on offense while they will get Tyner, Brown and Carrington back, Allen still isn't healthy and they have their best ever recruiting class coming in with the two QB's they wanted. They are likely to be down next year as well but the future has never looked brighter for them.

I don't know if it's the end of an era, but that was the most points Oregon has ever allowed in Eugene. That was a loss of historical proportions.

I did not watch the game was out and about..QB goes down and sometimes shit snow balls.. Just by highlights it looked they were not there mentally.. Let's b honest what had Utah done do to put much fear into Ducks.. Just goes to show #1 on any given day you can lose, more parity in CFB then ever before #2 can't put a price tag on starting QB's... Ohio State use to have 3 now I am not sure they have one playing worthy. Ducks will be fine IMO, you can't win every game every year and you can't replace #1 QB at any school and not miss a beat. You don't replace a guy like MM and think there won't b a step back, then his replacement gets knocked out. Seems many do love to bash the Ducks ( as an Ohio State fan I have seen it many times w/osu) ducks are still a top program it's one conference loss..USC is a time bomb that will implode, still uncertain on Stanford, UCLA seems like the stud out there.. It's a long season and shit happens.

They need a DC that requires his player's to play D. Been saying this for years. Lack of defensive coaching has cost the Ducks at least 1 natty.

It looks to be a down year..it happens , it happens even to us homers that root for our home team..is it the end of an era... I would put money on it that its not..Like Wanger said, the recruiting is getting better with our top class coming in next year and the team is very young....the future will always be bright with the backing that this program has...

good topic...

No matter what the true answer, as mentioned by others mariota ensured it held together a few more years

oregon has played way above recruiting rankings for many many years

oregon had been an ATS cover machine fora long time... definitelyvwatch for them to be great fade (obvious comment i guess given the topic)
