At the end of the year, you'll have to eat your words.

Afterall, you are pretty popular for just throwing numbers out there. You also told me you could find, what? Almost 20 teams who could compete with UNC or have just as much talent?

This UNC team is better than that Illinois team, sorry. They're also more talented than that National Title team as well, but they have 1 huge thing in similarity...EXPERIENCE.

Wrong, I never said that. I listed a bunch of teams that have legit hopes of getting good enough to be title contenders by the end of the year, and I stnad by that list. I NEVER said any have as much talent as UNC. I actually made a point of saying UNC would have to be the favorite, you're just so much of a homer you want them to be given the title already. They are the best team this year and they are the favorite to win it all, I've never disputed either of those points. I can see a bunch of other teams winning it all though because the best team doesn't always win.

Even if they win the title this year why would I have to eat my words? Never said they couldn't, again I said they should be the favorite. It would have nothing to do with what I said in this thread either because I stated this is a weak year in college hoops. No team this year is as strong as the two teams I mentioned before (UNC and Illinois from like '05 I believe) and no team this year could compete with the UConn team that had Ben Gordon, Emeka Okafor Charlie Villanueva, Josh Boone, Rashad Anderson, Hilton Armstrong, Denham Brown, and Marcus Williams. That team had TONS more talent than the current UNC version, but the current Heels are the best team THIS year. Once again, the 03-04 Uconn team, the 04-05 UNC team and the 04-05 Illinois team all had much more talent and would be at least 6-7 point favorites over the current UNC squad.

Try to take that statement without getting offended because it's the truth and it's not at all a bash on UNC.

ha! ha! thats awesome!

what are u smoking? send me some!

The Big 10 is probably the third best conf in football and and maybe the fourth best in basketball. That would mean they are not the worst in EITHER. The Big 10 is better than the ACC, Big East and Pac 10 in football, and the Big 12 and SEC in basketball. They might be better than the Pac 10 also in hoops.

MSU is showing their youth this year. I thought this would be a bad year for them from the start and was really surprised at their preseason ranking. They turn the ball over way too much and cant rebound, a staple of Izzo's past teams. Getting Suton back will help, but they will struggle again through conference play. I think this class has the potential to be very good, just in 1-2 years. Purdue looks decent, but as a whole the B10 is looking down t in basketball this year.

BTW kyle, your posts in this thread are really dumb.

What more do you need this team to do? Do they have to beat DOOK by 50 before you're a believer?

I honestly think they could've won by 20 tonight WITHOUT Hansbrough. You underestimate Drew, Thompson, and most importantly, ED DAVIS.

I thought MSU would be better than this, but they may be anywhere from the 5th to 7th best team in the Big 10. (Behind Wisky, Purdue, Michigan, and OSU for sure. PSU is probably better also, and possibly even Minnesota.)

UNC cover was never in doubt tonight...

Do you not read my full posts, is that what the problem is here? When have I ever said I don't believe the UNC Tar Heels are good this season? I have said SEVERAL times they are the best team in the nation, but that's not good enough for you. I don't care if they win the title by 40 points this year, the field is pretty weak. The teams I've mentioned have much more talent than this year's squad and there is NO QUESTION about it.

It's not like you can claim I'm hating on UNC either because I listed another UNC team that is probably the second best of this decade after the UConn team of 03-04. This year's UNC team is very talented. They are not however in the top three of this decade and I don't see how you can argue that. To me killing your opponents is a stupid way of looking at it because 1) it's very early in the year and 2) the talent of the field differs from year to year. This year for example has a VERY weak field. The field in past years were much stronger and the top teams were all much stronger than this year.

Good luck to the Tar Heels the rest of the way, it would be nice for Hansbrough to end his college career with a title.

Also, I need the add one thing concerning the Heels. I have no idea why Lawson came back. He wouldn't of been a top pick, probably somewhere around 20th overall, if that high, but why would he want to come back to those UNC fans? He was getting TONS of hate mail from dumbass UNC fans when it looked like he was going to declare eligible for the draft. I don't get why fans would be so stupid to do this to someone who tries to help your team win, but I was amazed when I read about this. I can try to find the article, but it was on sportsline.com by Gary Parrish. Read it and I'm sure most of you will lose a lot of respect for the North Carolina fan base.

Try to sugar coat it anyway you want, you've hated on them since I mentioned the notion of them going all the way. Thin field??? What happened to last week when you posted several times about many teams who could compete with them? YOU'RE A CLOWN.

People declaring for the draft? Oh my god, you think Ty Lawson is the only person from ANY college to ever get hate mail?

Try walking a day in any great college player who leaves premature.

By the way, Lawson WOULDN'T have been a 1st rounder. Don't know where you get your information from, but from past experiences with you, I can only imagine.

MSU has it's weaknesses for sure, but I think you are putting too much stock in some of those other teams. Most of these teams are very young and inexperienced. After the top few, it may be a crap shoot, but I still think MSU finishes 3-4 in the B10. Not acceptable for Izzo's standards set, but with an eye on the next few years.

It makes me think how well this conference will be from top to bottom in 2 years....

There are a lot of young teams in the Big 10 this year and some good recruiting classes coming in the next 2 years. Once the Hoosiers get back on track it will be hard to find a bad team in the Big10. Northwestern even looks like they can compete now.
