Wasn't he supposed to go play outfield or 1st like 4 years ago? He refused to do it and now its going downhill fast. Why wouldn't anyone who gets paid based on offense insist on playing the toughest defensive position?

No clue Bill. For an offensive catcher, that .210 average isn't turning heads either.

Why would anybody want to catch ? Pizza should go to AL and DH, playing catcher only sparingly as needed.

I remember Todd Hundley was pretty brutal...had a stretch there where he couldn't even throw it back to the pitcher. Anyone remember that?

I don't know Doug. Some guys are pitchers, some guys are catchers.

Or were you referring to his position as a baseball player?

padres get my vote for worst acquisition by a MLB team for signing Piazza. He is an embarassment.

Catching is hard, you have to stop and switch positions later in your career, I can't think of any guys that still catch when they near 40, off the top of my head.

Brent Mayne worse catcher ever, sub 350 slugging pct, ZERO tool player. had a 17 yr career on because he was Left handed AB.
