After rushing for 1,159 yards and 7 touchdowns in 1999, RB Olandis Gary has a total of 455 yards rushing and two TD's over the past three seasons, with only three starts over that span.

James Stewart has started 35 games, rushed for 2,890 yards and has scored 15 touchdowns since 2000.

You be the judge.

NO, its not an upgrade, but its the best they could do until Stewart gets back in about 6 weeks.

i think both are good backs

i think olandis gary is a workhose type of back

he needs minimun 20 carries per game

the past 3 years playing here and there w/ 3 other backs is not where he strives

the defence has to respect him which will help the passing game

i like the trade. i dont think it will be any dropoff in the runningback position

i also believe he is faster than stewart which might create longer runs from scrimage

I think James Stewart catches more crap than any back who has ever almost averaged atleast 4.5 yards per carry every year. He is a solid back who in my opinnion deserves more carries then he receives. Obviously he will be out of Detroit next year as they continue to look for that west coast offense running back.
