I really doubt these teams come out very hard knowing that the draw gets both in and Germany keeps 1st place. They will take chances, but I don't think we are going to see a wide open game. Doesn't seem like a very solid choice imo. And your list of 8...or is it 10 teams is about 4 teams too many.

I was referring to teams that have MORE chances than the US to win the world cup. Not a realistic list. Next time read with an appropriate context before laying down your supreme soccer wisdom...

I can see a 2-1 score... Just one goal is needed from ANY team for the game to change dynamics and either Germany attack with pride like a wounded animal or the US opening up to full attack to fight for qualification

Appropriate context? Your list has nothing to do with the OP's question. There was no need for the OP to have to clarify, had you kept your "supreme soccer wisdom" in check. He wasn't asking, so why hijack? It's Germany vs USA, that's it.

Based on my knowledge of soccer it is not inconceivable that the lesser team can get a win on a lucky goal...... so +1000 seems like pretty decent odds here.

Yeah, it's a long shot, which is why it's at 10 to one odds. I think a small bet would be worth it. US is playing with 1 day less rest, they haven't been playing their best, but they are gritty as always and still find ways to get results. Regardless of the odd game 1 injuries, I still feel they are better conditioned. Germany plays 4 CB's on defense. That is where we will be able to attack them, we have the speed advantage there. Fabian Johnson is playing great ball. Klinsmann also hinted that some fresh bodies will be used. Yedlin anybody? His pace late in the game killed Portugal. That's why I never count them out. Chandler and Brooks, two of the German-Americans could be options. Jones is in beast-mode. If Bradley could somehow find his A-game, there is hope.

guess you missed the last minute of the game :think2: his 2 mistakes killed the USA :ohno:0.32 secs later game equal

What, you are forum police now? Several posters understood USA to win the WC, OP's first post wasn't clearly stated. And why am I explaining myself to you? Go fuck yourself.

He knows all about soccer but constantly forgets stuff like this. Like in the Donovan discussion, throwing inaccurate stats. But he knows more of soccer than Soriano and me combined ##)

I've seen a lot of blame being put around on various players from Bradley for having a bad first touch and getting pushed off the ball so easy, to Beckerman for not reacting, to Gonzalez for not being on the backline (though he was most lilkey playing DM just like the Gold Cup Final vs Panama), to Beasley for giving Ronaldo too much space, to Fabian for probably not communicating to Cameron that there was a runner, to Cameron for not looking to the runner, but first time I saw it pinned on Yedlin. It was a collective series of events that could have been stopped along the way. Keep smacking yourself though.

You have weird comments dude. "constantly forgets"?. The few times I've ever talked to you, when you tried to insinuate I was a stupid Gringo and I spat Spanish in your face, then I gave you a breakdown of how Concacaf just plain refuses to suspend matches and has a history of it (again all in Spanish by the way), you had no comment. What misinformation? You go off on tangents and make it hard to want to continue the conversation. I never once talked about how the MLS was compared to other leagues. I talked about how I was ok with Dempsey/Bradley having recent moves to the MLS. I'd rather have them fresh than beat up. That's an opinion and a hypothetical. I never presented it as fact. I never said "Demspey is beat up". I can't make you digest the information. Guys that just came off of long seasons, Suarez and Ronaldo for example, are not 100%. I thought for the US to have a chance, it's best players needed to be healthy. Hmm, so timely that German coach Low basically said the same thing about the MLS season being an advantage for health. Guess he doesn't know either. It was quite obvious from that Donovan thread that you have a reading comprehension issue. And sure as shit, it pops up again.

I don't think 10:1 is a waste of money unless true odds are 20:1....

In this case I think 10:1 is about right....so worth a play imo. what if they are both playing for a draw then US gets a break out play late to steal it...

i don't know soccer odds well, but i'd much rather have US on a 2-way ML or even a 0,-.5 line

I'm taking a shot, did today with Nigeria too at 9-1 and lost but just doing it for fun. I also took usa to win it all all at 250-1 before the tourny even started even though I don't believe they have a chance in hell, still just doing it to keep things interesting...

I'll say this...everyone and their mothers just can't get enough of backing the Germans. My locals have both moved their lines from Germany -0.5 to -1. And what tends to happen more often than not when a huge amount of public cash goes on one side...? Remember though that these lines are based on worldwide betting, not just US bettors. We are still viewed as minnows on the world stage, which is why backing the US presents solid value IMO.

I really believe you'll see a game play out similar to Ecuador and France. The US has no choice but to make some changes to their lineup...they've got to, or several guys will run out of gas by halftime. I like the +1 a lot better than the +1000 win ML. I'm guessing this ends 1-1.
