On Saturday, my next door neighbor has a "fly by night" tree service cut an oak tree down, which of course is on his property. It is close to my lawn. The reason I know they are a fly by night, is that they are not listed in the white or yellow pages and their phone number is out of Kansas. The folks cutting this tree down are in the middle of my lawn with ropes, etc. The branches were piled into my yard after being cut down. When the tree was brought down, they had it fall into the middle of my lawn. They cut the trunk of the tree up and threw that into the pile of branches IN THE MIDDLE OF MY LAWN!! They then left for 4 hours and came back later to say they would be back tomorrow to clean it up. I went off on the supervisor or whatever he was saying this shit is on my property and I want it off. My neighbors never got my approval to have the workers in my yard, leave the branches in my yard, etc, etc, etc.

Other neighbors are telling me I was not very "neighborly" by going out and bitching about the situation. Am I way off on this? It may not have been the best way to handle it. But, there seems to be a complete lack of common sense here.:ughhh:

Opinions?

They came back on Sunday and cleaned it up. I stood out there and watched them clean it all up. They got an earful from my on Saturday evening. They claimed they had to go to the dump and get rid of the other trees they cut down in the neighborhood. Whatever. Not my problem. Any tree service that drives around in a 1972 pickup truck with a trailer that is made of wood is not exactly a reputable company.

I see you live in Charlotte. I live in Kannapolis. But, work in uptown

No, fuck the other neighbors, you must live in an area like mine where the people are all too happy to tell you what to do with your money, your property, your sanity, everything. Their convenience and wishes come first and anyone that objects gets the tsk tsk snake eye. Don't like the sound of a dozen kids screaming at the top of their sugar crusted lungs because their parents have taken the word 'no' out of the parenting lexicon? Tough shit, tsk tsk snake eye. Welcome to Arlington, VA, my burden for 18 more days. Congrats on getting it cleaned up. At some point, enough is enough.

I could not have said it better myself. These people here think nothing of what went on. I am looked upon as the prick. I have no problem with that. Hopefully in the future, they think twice before pulling this kind of shit again
