A man murders his wife or a mother kills her kids, these are crimes of murder but these people are not likely to kill just anyone.
A guy murders a Mexican, that he does not know, because he hates Mexicans. This Guy is very likely to kill again.
I can see a difference. Surprised that some of you can't.
You are now punishing thought. A thought the government doesn't like. I just think if you murder someone you should be charged with murder regardless of the victim. Is it any worse if in the 60's a KKK member murders a black person, or the KKK member murders the black citizen's wife/husband who happens to be white? I personally don't see the difference. Feel free to disagree.

Well, I voted against the war before I voted for it.In Maryland Gov. O'Mally signed legislation that says that any crime against a homeless person is a hate crime.
There was a republican that agreed to the expansion of this legislation but said that he'd be perfectly fine with have no hate crime laws at all.
I would think that one shares some of the blame and the other is blameless. So no I dont.
