Everyone I see on the site or a few other is all over the U.S. today. I think the slippers finally fall off today. Ghana is no push over and I see this game being nil-nil going to the half. Hope I am wrong, but with what I see around here with everyone going one way usually isn't a good thing.

I am on Ghana PK (90 minutes and injury time only)

Thoughts and plays posted in the other thread.

Somebody will have to be a winner today, better me than the other guys on the States.

So your reasoning for the slipper falling off is that everyone is on the US? Wasn't everyone and their momma on Brazil to win by 1+ against Ivory Coast and everyone and their momma on Spain to beat Chile?

The States look like a team of destiny and with so much interest generated in this County now, I think the boys show up to win. GL

Let's not forget that the US defense is very prone to letting in that early goal - Algeria did have a legit shot at taking the early lead, but hit the crossbar. For whatever reason you want to believe, we do not get the benefit of the doubt from the refs. I see people putting us into the quarterfinals!!! If we are to win this game we are going to have to earn it. Ghana has not been impressive, and have only scored on pk's. We have motivation knowing that these guys knocked us off last time, but it won't be easy.

I like the US winning this one 2-1 in reg time. No homer just the way I see this one shaking down. It won't be easy.

Call it what you want Flava, but I know where I stand on this. The Americans have really had to struggle to get this far and on 2 days rest are gona be really exhausted. Ghana on the other hand hasn't had quite the struggle. So this is my reasoning for taking the Ghanan's in this match.

The States do not deserve to move on. Time and again, they have given up goals in the first 10 minutes. This is not baseball, football or basketball where points are cheap. Goals are premium, especially at this stage and level of competition.

I also do not see the intensity that the US displayed in the group stages. They seemed to lack creativity and their strikers also lacked finishing touch. I feel bad for Bob Bradley but the better team clearly won the battle and my hats to Ghana.

Looking forward to Ghana - Uruguay matchup. Should be another dandy.

I disagree that they were clearly the better team. We had more shots, held a possession advantage 51-49. We allowed two good looks and those two good looks were buried by Ghana. The only difference I saw in the two teams was one was more technically sound and was able to capitalize on opportunities while the other team wasn't either of those.

Sorry to break the news to you but possession advantage does not mean shit. End result does. You even nailed it on the head, it's about finishing your opportunities and sadly the Americans didn't and they deservedly crashed out. No excuse here bud.

If you were to re-play this game 10 times, I would pick Ghana 10 times. It is what it is, the US has made some strides in the international soccer scenes but they have a long way to go. If you don't care for soccer then that's probably none of your business but if you do care, i guess it's back to Square 1 for the team. They will always qualify in the weak CONCACAF but you have to wonder what's next? Some of these guys may not be around in 4 years time, i hope the next crop of players are ready to battle it out.
