It's nothing more than a promotional song for watching the games on WGN, but jeeze, Cubs fans seem to think it's up there with the Notre Dame, Michigan and Ohio State fight songs.

On top of everything, I can't get the damn melody out of my head...

You my son are done:pope:

Once it is in your mind, the only thing that can end the blaspheny is to sacrifice my friend Mr. Billy Goat Gruff on Home Plate as Bobby Howry and Lou eat his beating heart:monsters-

Good luck Retard:think2:

It's better than the damn:
Cubs, Cubs, Cubs
Here Come the Cubs

done to the tune of Barbara Ann that I used to hear when they broadcast their games in Vegas a number of years ago.

Last year I went to a Cubs game while I was in Chicago. I never knew there was a song that they sang when they won. Very strange seeing people singing along after the game.

Yeah, it's the gayest thing in sports. I'm a Cub fan but change the channel as soon as the game is final. It needs to be banned.

How about Sweet Caroline for us Sox diehards, which is played at every home game before start of last of eighth inning wheter

Sox are winning, losing or if game is tied.

To be honest, even though it is a ritual which really serves no purpose, I kind of like the song and don't get tired of hearing it when they play it.

Also, in the offseason when I hear it played on the radio, I do like it as it reminds me of the baseball, the Sox and the season to come,

which are all by far my strongest passions when it comes to sports.

I just looked it up, and it turns out that they started playing it in 1997 at times for good luck for the Sox, but that it didn't become tradition

to played at the beginning of the eight inning until 2002, and has continued happily after since that date.

Yeah-I remember that year vividly for obvious reasons.

On some level of consciousness that may very well be the reason I still enjoy hearing them play that song before the start of the eightth and

especially so if the Sox are ahead. lol
