If coalition forces are doing a turkey shoot on guys who are trying to surrender, word will spread and resistance will stiffen considerably.

That first picture sure looks like one of the guys in the trench has a white flag on a pole next to him.

A common tactic Iraqi's have been using is to show a sign of surrender and then attack. Hard to compare that to executing POW's...

Idlax is correct and that's likely what happened, but it strikes me that no one knows what happened - it would be refreshing to see an eyewitness account of what happened. Pictures without context are often meaningless, which makes them outstanding propaganda.

Actually my stupid little point was that it's unfair to only show one photo (where we have no idea what the circumstances were) and blindy say "Americans and Brits are executing surrendering Iraqis" where we have undisputable evidence of Iraqi war crimes broadcast on worldwide television.

Actually just yesterday there was an instance where an Iraqi soldier used the white flag to signal to waiting artillery, the location of the US Marine unit.

The heroic American soldiers who raped, stabbed and machine-gunned the women, old men, boys, girls and babies of My Lai 4 were led by Lt. William Calley and Capt. Ernest Medina.

Capt. Medina participated fully in the slaughter at My Lai. A young Vietnamese woman had been shot and was lying wounded on the ground. At one point Medina was seen nudging her body with his boot. Seeing that she was still alive, Capt. Medina took a step back, pointed his gun down at her and blew her away.

In a 1969 interview with Mike Wallace of CBS News, a totally unrepentant Capt. Medina tried to justify the slaughter of women, children and babies by suggesting they may have planted mines which killed American troops.

A total of 504 helpless human beings were sadistically slaughtered at My Lai 4 by soldiers of the United States Army. All of the victims were either old women, young women, old men, boys, girls or babies. There were no young Vietnamese men there. The American soldiers were never fired upon. They found no Viet Cong and no weapons.

Grantt: right - that's an actual example of bad shit done by the soliders - thank you for sharing that. Is that representative of all American action?

No.

Thank you, though. I knew I could count on you from more Vietnam-era references.

The result of training a person to kill. nothing else. murder. kill, kill, kill.
Then we blame the men for their actions, when we should blame the fact that we need an armed forces with that type of aggressor mentality.

Radio: too funny - I actually have brothers who were or are in the military. They are trained ... trained ... oh, no point in going on here, you're just trying for a reaction - I don't feel like giving you one today.

You seem to have an answer for everything.
Ask your brothers, then.

So, US troops aren't trained to kill?
Do they participate in group hugs?
Come on, jazz. I was stating a fact.
No reaction was sought.

I notice that they've changed the caption on that picture in the last hour.

Previous:
British soldier inspect dead Iraqi’s in trench.

Now:
British soldier inspect dead Iraqi’s in trench. Coalition forces are being lured into a trap by Iraqi soldiers pretending to surrender.

It's your entire post, radio, not just that. You call it 'murder', 'kill kill kill'. Combat troops are indeed taught to kill the enemy, but it's not the only thing. However, I suspect armies across the world are taught that too, else WHAT'S THE POINT of having a military?

You were not stating a fact when you said 'murder' ( 1 : to kill (a human being) unlawfully and with premeditated malice 2 : to slaughter wantonly) - you were stating your opinion. I don't consider Americans nor Iraqis to be 'murdering' each other on the battlefield, but 'killing' (to deprive of life) them.

Naturally, if you believe war is not 'legal', then I guess you would consider it to be murder. I don't.

Because your "State" tells them too does not make it any less of a heinous crime.
