Aloha Gang...

Just wanted to know if anyone has bought any popular classic or muscle cars to fix up and use as an investment.

My father and uncles have been doing this ever since I was a young kid...so we were always around these classic cars and still are.

For me, I like the muscle cars like the Chevy Camaro, Chevelle, GTOs, Mustangs...I was amazed after watching some of these auctions how much these cars go for...Unreal!

A few years back I bought a 1987 Chevy Monte Carlo SS instead, to fix up..and then keep as an investment....This car is a very popular model and I believe was the last Chevy to have a V-8 motor.

Does anyone else do this or is thinking of doing this...Please feel free to share your thoughts and ideas...on purchasing these muscle cars as an investment...Do you think its a good idea or not?...What type of cars are good to invest in?....etc.

I am not to mechaniclaly inclined but i will tell ya that i know people who make some serious dough doing this. They fix em up or just store em and then flip them to make good money. just like anything though, you have to know all about it otherwise you can get screwed.

Definately!...That applies to everything you spend your hard earned income on.

For us, we know about cars...ie, uncles all mechanics and sheetmetal men.

But I just wanted to know about others and how they feel about the massive amounts that are being spent on these Muscle cars from the 60's to early 70's right now...Freakin Incredible.

I saw one fixed up 69 Chevy Camaro go at auction for over $70,000...Some other cars in that time went for more.

I watch the shows on TLC and Discovery...ie, Wrecks to Riches, Overhaulin,...and also American Chopper....Shit, one of their custom choppers go for $150K and up...WOW!

This is why I am asking if anyone out there is investing in these cars right now...instead of trying their luck on the market.

I already got my investment car, a 1987 Chevy Monte Carlo SS...that is sitting in front my house right now (no time to work on it), which I bought for just $900 and in good shape...I have already had 4 people come up and ask me if I wanted to sell it.
