Is 1500-3000 / 384-512 kbps significantly better than 384-768 / 128-384 kbps? (the first set up numbers before the "/" is the download".?

I can get the first one for $24.95 and the second for $14.95. I will have a router with 3 computers if that matters.

I don't know shit about this but just looking at the numbers there seems to be a big diff.

I think it depends on what you will be doing...if you are running a server or will be doing a lot of uploads, then the second number is important, if not, I think the first number is the only one that matters.

Even for downloads, do you watch movies and crap or simply just surf internet sites....

one is much faster than the other one, the first number like you said is download, second one upload which is only important if you are going to be sending a lot of info (like sending large files or using voice over IP which consumes bandwidth in both directions)

I would say, take a look at the cheaper package and give it a try, not all ISPs actually deliver such speeds in a consistent manner

If you are going to be constantly downloading movies/music etc (be careful and do NOT share any materials using peer to peer software, RIAA/MPAA actively monitor these things and get pretty upset) then go for the faster one
