Every once in a while i get an opportunity to write about the team i pull for, Louisville. This is not a wager, it is simply to provide important notes for those interested in the top 10 showdown this weekend. Being a fan all my life i have the best and the worst of each team, and hopefully can help a few folks out!
Location: Louisville, KY
Time of Game: Noon
Current Line: -3.5 FSU
Stadium Capacity: 55,000
Weather Forecast: High of 82, cloudy, potential rain shower
Head Coach: Bobby Petrino (offensive is his strength)
Things to Consider:
-First ever College Gameday Appearance in Louisville
-Second Most important game in the history of Uofl Football (2006 WVU is first)
-Petrino is 19-0 at home when ranked in the AP top 25
-FSU has defeated Uofl in the past 2 meetings
-Uofl hasnt played an opponent anywhere close to the caliber of FSU so far
-Uofl QB Lamar Jackson is first player in over 10 years to win National Player of the Week Back to Back
Keys to the Game for Uofl:
-Take Care of the football
-Control the clock
-Fundmental Defense
-Crowd
Players to Watch:
-James Quick #17 WR
-Lamar Jackson #8 QB
-Cole Hikutini #18 TE
-Devonte Fields #92 DE/LB
Team Strengths:
-Dual Rushing Attack
-Many offensive weapons
-Arguably the best QB in the country
-Improving Offensive Line
-Strong defensive front 7
Team Weaknesses:
-Secondary on crisp routes
-Inexperience in General
Reasons to Bet on Uofl:
-Top 5 offense in the country, nearly impossible to stop so far
-Atmosphere, Location
-Lamar Jackson is incredibly talented, has become more discipline, and can read the field very well
-Want revenge from past 2 years
-Ability to stop the run
-Bobby Petrino lives for the big game
Reasons to Bet on FSU:
-Jimbo F. is a fantastic coach and will be able to handle the big game environment
-Dynamic QB (may have hard time with containment, due to not seeing this type of QB often
-Dalvin Cook
-Team has shown they can beat top 25 opponents (ole miss)
-History of winning against uofl
-Can take advantage of Uofl inexperience
Opinion on the Match-up from a fan perspective:
The entire city wants to sleep until noon on saturday to play this game, there hasnt been this type of feel in over 10 years and we are excited to have gameday in town. Our QB is probably the best in the nation, if you dont believe it look at his first 2 game statistics (he has more yards himself than 99 FBS schools). We know that our offense will score the ball, but worry about the ability of the secondary to handle the intelligence of the FSU passing scheme. The question of the entire game will be if the front 7 of uofl can hold down dalvin cook enough to control the game, if that happens i believe uofl will win the game. We know that Petrino is an offensive genius and has a perfect record at home when ranked, i would like to believe he can make his record 20-0. Overall you need to watch this football game, it will one of the best of the week.
Opinion on the Match-up from a bettor perspective:
I think this game has vegas confused, they slapped on a -1 for uofl to open, and it has already moved to -3.5. Vegas is incredible at what they do, and i would be weary of betting on the spread because of how unpredictable the game will be. The value comes from the total, and if i had to guess it would be in the 64-69 range at open. I see this game being close to 73 points, so take that how you wish.
Hope this helps a little, goodluck to all!
