My thoughts: :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink:

General you saw what they did to New England! The Colts have only dreamed of beating the Pats (even in Indy they get goal line stood!)

Maybe in Indy they could throw on the Steeler D but in Blitzburgh they would struggle IMO.

I agree General, Indy would take care of business in that game. Belichek was giving Pitt his Vanilla schemes thinking he might see this team down the road, plus Dillon wasn't playing either

General:

When NFL season reaches deep into the playoffs and only the very elite teams remain, assuming Indianapolis and Pittsburgh still are alive, don't expect any of the remaining teams to handle the other easily. When top tier teams meet in these levels of games, teams must be balanced both offensively and defensively in order to continue forward. Teams that run the ball well and stop the run well are the teams that usually advance. Should these two teams meet, it is most likely the game will be played outdoors in Pittsburgh. Would expect that Indianapolis will find it difficult to run on the Steelers. Without being able to run, Mannings ability to use play action will be impacted although suspect he will still have some success. On the other side, fully expect the Steelers to be able to run significantly against a still questionable Colts defensive front, as well as move the ball in the air to Ward and Burress, thus the Steelers should be able to control time of possession and move the ball into scoring territory. The Colts will find themselves with fewer possessions and greater difficulty moving the chains consistently. If this game was indoors in Indianapolis, the Colts would have a much better chance of winning, but on the road, probably either in the Divisional Round or the Conference Championship, believe they will be hard pressed to pull off the win.

Pittsburgh EASILY beats them

keep in mind the game would be played in january in pitt - when the weather is nasty and playing a factor in this game.

and in the playoffs - DEFENSE wins game and indy can't stop anyone while pitt can - and pitt would beat the colts - no probem

for those who think indy would win - answer me 1 question:

HOW is indy gonna stop pitt on defense?

'nuff said!

If Indy can get 17+ points in the first half, Pitt is done. Pitt is far too one-dimensional right now. Pitt would need some ints and some sacks (something that hasn't been done by the Colts offense all year). Colts are also running the ball far better then I have even seen them do. Can they get a tough yard? I don't know? Pitt can not get in a shootout with this team, good luck Pitt.

Colts playing some stiff comp next 3 games. Will give a good indication of their play. I don't know if they can beat Pit. I dont know if NE can beat pit or if any can beat phily. On any given day.

I think the Colts could muster up enough defense to take care of Pitt. The playoffs look like they could be pretty exciting. The AFC should beat up on each other enough to give the NFC a bit of an advantage. I am a little biased towards Indy but this has to be the year for them. I just wish their defense would come around.

This scenerio reminds me of several years ago Pitt fans, rookie QB in playoff, Stewart against Denver with Elway. Rookie QB's have a way of getting exposed and that was the bet of the century Denver getting 3 points against Pitt in that game. Denvers defense wasn't supernatural either. Indy breaks outon top its over. Indy gets points in that game betof the century 2

This Indy team reminds me of the old Buffalo teams they have a great offense but no D just look at who they played and beat up on and then look at there close games and loses they look better on paper than they really are when they play a team with a great Dthey will have problems.

NOW NOW GENERAL do not get too caught up in your excitement.

The Pats have lost one Game in 27 games. Grasshopper until you can snatch the pebble!!!! and yes it was the steelers in Pitt, but NEW ENGLAND is still the PRIZE FRANCHISE

One loss by the STEELERS which will happen......AND WE WILL LEAVE THE LIGHT ON FOR YOU HERE IN SNOWY PLAYOFF FESTIVE NEW ENGLAND

I am certain Indy is looking for the chance to dethrown NE. They have played tight games which could have gone either way in recent match-ups. I have nothing but respect for NE. I think if you had a best of 7, between Indy and NE it would be a great series. I am looking forward to the playoffs, but hate to rush the season. The next 3 for Indy are like playoffs vs Balt, SD, & Den.

May the best team win. Until NE is taken down, they are the champs.

When Pittsburgh gets Plaxico back that will open up a whole new dimension on offense, the ability to go deep again. I don't know how Indy will shut down Pitt's running game either. Pitt will control the clock, and will disrupt Manning with blitzes. With the game in Pittsburgh, Pitt would win.

IMO, all depends on where the game is played. Great discussion, General.

If Colts were all that great they would not have lost 3 games and likely have to play at NE and PGH to get to Super Bowl. Some times the answer is not all that complicated.
