It is very sad. My daughters friends grandmother just passed in a nursing home in our town. She had Alzheimer's. To die alone with no family being around you is just the worse for the family.
I hope she went peacefully, as we are hearing she had no signs of Corona. They tested her because of her environment and two days later gone....

wow, your daughters friends grandmother who had alzheimers. it is going to take weeks to get over that. how about just saying "that's a shame" like jerry seinfeld would. major overreaction for someone you never heard of.

i'm sure they never came when she was alive either. even if they showed up to say their goodbyes the poor woman wouldn't even have known who they were. it isn't sad. it is a blessing. i have never heard of someone reacting to their daughters friends grandmothers demise. how far down on the scale of importance is that to him.

This has to do with the people that work in these facilities living in very closed quarters and then bringing it to the nursing home.

huh, you meant to say i think, people who work in these facilities bringing it home to older people that may live with them. don't understand the workers living in very closed quarters and then bringing it to the nursing homes. makes zero sense.

Chill people, we don't have to fight about every little thing

It's OK for someone to have a different perspective

No, I meant what I said. A lot of the workers at nursing homes are immigrants/foreigners that live 3-5 to an apartment, live in triple deckers, densely populated areas. Then they go to the nursing home and kill ya grandma

Agree...the bitterness in here these days is way over the top.
And it's really just a handful of posters that bring it everyday.

oh ok, they do hire cheap labor to empty bed pans and the like. so blame the owners of the nursing homes. still no one visits nursing homes even if their mother is gasping her last breath. so this saying goodbye cannot ever happen again.

yeah, MA nursing homes mostly suck from what I've seen...Even the ones that cost 12k per month

I never really understood how cost could vary by state so much given medicare pays for most of it anyway

actually medicare may pay for some treatment costs but they charge so much because they cannot throw you out after all your savings are gone and have to accept your meager social security checks for upwards of 20 years in some cases. of course you get bounced out of your private room that you enjoyed when you had money but they charge more when you first go in to offset the long term residents who are broke.

From everything I've read & heard, the worst thing you can do to someone with Corona virus is put them on a ventilator. ......crazy how many people are dying after being put on one.

noticed that cuomo stopped whining about lack of ventilators for about a month now. shows you what they knew about all this which was virtually nothing. he got his ventilators and now can't give them away. every hospital he called told him that we have 3 which is more than enough and 2 of them don't even work.

Very sad. But this is just in Mass. I’m hearing young people who think they are turning a corner and then dying.

We still don’t understand the effect and toll this takes on the body. How it attacks the human body destroying shit and creating problems. We still don’t fully understand this.

Young, healthy people are dying from a COVID-19 effect called a "cytokine storm." Basically, you make it off a ventilator (maybe!), you get your appetite back a little, you think you're turning a corner, and then your immune system rips through your lung tissue and you drown.

The other common way young people are falling off the face of the earth from this are the random strokes it causes
