In the last months the Impeach Bush campaign has made incredible progress. Hundreds of thousands have voted online and on paper ballots, newspaper ads have been placed in the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle and in a number of mid-size publications, thousands of people have written letters to the editor and impeachment committees exist in a growing number of cities.

This historic effort has an opportunity now to take a big step forward. On October 25th the Impeach Bush campaign will make a huge showing at the National March on Washington DC that will draw tens of thousands of people. The march is focused on Bush's illegal war in Iraq and the main demand will be Bring the Troops Home Now!

There will be worldwide and national media coverage of this activity. The VoteTo Impeach campaign believes it is essential that thousands of people that day hold signs, banners and placards that say Impeach Bush Now!

Many will bring their own signs and banners with that message. VoteToImpeach will also be printing thousands of signs and placards, as well as distributing lawn signs, window signs, bumper stickers and buttons with that message. It will also be an opportunity to sign up tens of thousands of new VoteToImpeach voters.

We urge everyone who can make it to come to Washington on October 25th and tell your friends and family members. If you can't personally attend but want to show your support for this effort you can make a contribution to help defray the many expenses for printing and transportation. It has been the volunteer work and self-sacrifice of so many people that has made this movement grow into a genuine national campaign.

Personally I find impeachments embarrassing, I mean, sure it exsists for a reason and is important but I think it's for extreme cases. The Clinton deal was a joke and basically a political party making a personal attack any way possible against a politician that they stongly disliked from another party.

Let's just vote this monkey faced, mental midget out of office and start some damage control on what he's done.

Clinton, as President, was the top lawman in the country and sworn to uphold the law. He was found guilty of perjury. If the top lawman in the land can blatantly disregard the law he deserves to be removed in the same way Richard Nixon was removed for organizing an illegal act.

This was not a simple lie between friends but an illegal act under oath.

Clinton was found guilty of perjury? By a court of law? Where? When? I could have missed it, but I don't think he was ever actually found guilty of anything or pleaded guilty to anything. And BTW civil suits do not carry the tag of "guilty" with them.

It was my misunderstanding. Clinton was never found guilty of perjury. He was fined for contempt of court because he had lied in answering questions.

No one is guilty of perjury unless his false testimony, judged as of the time it was made, was "material" to the proceedings in which it was made. Judge Wright ruled evidence about Lewinsky inadmissible, because it "would frustrate the timely resolution of this case and would undoubtedly cause undue expense and delay." She did say that such evidence "might" be relevant, but she insisted that it was certainly not "essential" to the "core issues" of the case.

In other words, Clinton was not tried for perjury for lying under oath because it would cause undue expense and delay, not that he was not guilty. He was still found to be in contempt of court.

Here is the source of my information-

Clinton lied about who he was having sex with.

Bush lied by using forged documents and information he knew was false and got us into an ugly, meaningless war which has cost hundreds of lives.

The two cannot be compared.

And none of that rises anywhere near the level of fabricating evidence and embellishing the case (to use a generous phrase) to go to war. A lot of people have called it a pre-emptive war, I'd call it premeditated, in that the neocons in the Admin have always had in their plan to take down Saddam, they just used 9/11 as their convenient springboard.

I agree that the two cannot be compared as to the severity. However, lying under oath is still against the law. He didn't just lie about who he was having sex with. He lied under oath.

There are several people in law that believe Clinton should have been prosecuted for perjury. Instead he was fined for contempt of court and the matter was not pursued because "it would undoubtedly cause undue expense and delay."

tight, I don't think going to war in Iraq had much of anything to do with Israel. Look to OIL, MONEY and SETTLING OLD SCORES. That, and politics.

I find it interesting that Saddam was at one time a puppet of the US. He was given millions of US dollars. We supported him against other warlords. Then, when he doesn't suit our purposes we lie about what he has done and have him removed.

I had heard (and I can't substantiate it at this time) that the US told Saddam we would not go to war against him if he invaded Kuwait. Has anyone heard anything in that regard?
