Chris Gardner and Liz Murray are two people who came from absolutely nothing, horrible upbringings and bad backgrounds to make something of themselves.

So why cant others do that?

Lack of motivation? Too lazy? Whats the deal...?

If you live right by Gary then you live in a shithole and are a deadbeat broke lazy fuck looking for handouts. No wonder you want socialism. You're a parasite living off the backs of others. You have been exposed. Trash.
Well you're an idiot. If you live near Chicago or Gary you would understand. Gary is 15 min away from cities of all types. so once again you prove your logic and points are wrong. Might want to look at cities like Chesterton, Munster , valparaiso, highland. All wealthy cities that are oh no 10-15 mins away from Gary.

Not to mention. There is nothing wrong with poor people. The scum of the earth are people like you

One thing I've noticed on the left is that it isn't just about being able to better yourself, it's also that things should be as easy for the poor & middle as it is for the rich. In their world, it's totally unfair that someone without a wealthy family to support them might have to work and go to school, or take out a loan and spend years paying that back, while the wealthy kid goes to school by the family's wealth and never pays off a loan. In their eyes, that's unfair that someone had an easier time than they did.

You guys keep trying to compare yourselves to these welfare recipients. It's so weird. If living off food stamps and having basic healthcare is an enviable lifestyle for you, it must be rough. Arguing that individuals are not put at a disadvantage based on their upbringing is ridiculous. Almost all studies on Socioeconomics would prove you wrong.

You're on the right track. Now let's take this to its logical conclusion.

"Someone else is successful enough in life to the point where their kids don't have to struggle. It just isn't fair. Therefore if I can't enjoy that same lifestyle, no one else should be able to either." It's incredibly evil and vindictive, but that's exactly how they feel. The entire dim platform is based on demonizing and envying the successful.

Again, no family has been fabulously wealthy since the beginning of time. Go far back enough in someone's family tree, and you'll eventually find one member who earned his fortune through hard work. Why they shouldn't be allowed to take care of their family if they choose is anyone's guess.

So what exactly does modern liberalism and their Big Government poverty pimps have to offer society to keep people on the straight and narrow?

Absolutely...NOTHING!

But, but, but...what about public education? Isn't that worth something?

Not really. Because if you fuck up and get pregnant too young, there's a very high probability you'll drop out, get mixed in with the wrong crowd and become a total dependent loser.

Great for the Democrat party and their army of radical egalitarian academics obsessed with 'equality' but shitty for everyone else and a total economic drag on society.

So many things wrong with that.

No one is saying living off other people money (welfare, free housing, food stamps, etc ) is envious. What people have a problem with is the people who rely on it as a career and don't want anything more and make no effort to better themselves. They are content and happy to live off others.

And yes there are people who grow up at a disadvantage... Yet how come they don't work hard and break that cycle? Is it really hard to go to school or get a GED? After that is it really hard to join the military or learn from a state funded trade school? It may take a little more effort, but it's been shown it can be done over and over again.

So why don't they apply themselves? Why must those who put in the effort support those that could care less?

No one is saying it's impossible and there aren't options, just that there is not equal opportunity. Which is fine, but doesn't mean we can't help the less fortunate and those that were raised in horrible environments, or to help laborers who actually work and get abused by twisted capitalists who'd make them their slaves if they could.

Kids that grow up in the inner cities are at a disadvantage, but the opportunity is there. The decline of the family is the issue and the solution all in one.
