The break has lasted long enough. It's been about 3 weeks which gave me a nice little break. I'll dig out my record spreadsheet sometime tonight so I can add that info here as well. Good Luck.

The only one of those I like is Jimi Lee. I moved the line on all 3. Got Jimi at 133 and 127. Brendler at -103 and -109. Bd Ell at -104 and -110.

Aqu head up

You might be tight on the Roar Emotion, I figure both Miss Fortunate and Rare Gift have a decent shot to beat Roar, and you might have a better shot at the parimutuals than heads up, have not looked at Calder, hope I am wrong for your sake and good luck

As I see it, Roar Emotion is the model of consistency with the exception of her run in the slop and her debacle at the Spa, both of which strips tend to give horses problems so I can excuse those efforts. In doing so she cranks out effort after effort. I see Miss Fortunate as a horse that loves Kentucky, specifically Ellis Park. She couldn't get it done in NY as a 3yo and Mott sends her to Kentucky (unusual move) where the drug rules are the most liberal in the country and suddenly she wakes up at ELP. Her runs at CD and KEE left something to be desired. Maybe she likes those soybeans growing on the Ellis infield. Board Eligible is a slop monster who figures to bounce a bit off of her last effort. My biggest concern is that of ground loss for Roar Emotion, which is something a lot of Shug's runners have to overcome.

If Rare Gift pulls it off The Mig can be proud because I see her as much slower than the other three spoken about earlier. Weight (who knows in NY right now) alone with saving ground will be her allies.

I'm just glad to see a little talk on the board about matchups again.

Jimi lee looks solid, Dr. Brendler would be my pick in a very tight race, but

I think Puppeteer may spoil the party and win the race a very good odds.

Good Luck

The W.L. McKnight looks to be a VERY tough race. In trying to craft a pick 4 ticket, I had a hell of a time just trimming that race down to what I have now which is :

6,9/1,6,9/3,4,6,9,10,11/4,9,10 = $108

Labeeb:

I enjoy reading your handicapping comments, especially coming from an owner. Have you scoped out Calder for tomorrow? I like the rolling Pick 3's there and like 3,4,6/2,4/1,4,5,6 for the early Pick 3. The 2 in the 2nd race really looks strong and is the only horse in the race that has seen 6 1/2 in 1:18 and 4. I know Calder is a dead track but this was there on the 5th of Dec. Now he drops back down as a nickel claimer from that race of 6250. Interesting horse. Davesday is the name. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I don't really look at Calder aside from Pinnacle matchups. We'll be taking a look at a couple I'm sure over the next couple of weeks before the Gulfstream Park meet starts. There are a couple of OCls tomorrow, but nothing particularly stands out. I'm anxious to see how the "meet in the tents" works out. Hopefully I'll get a chance to take a Spring vacation down there after Vegas for the first 4 days of the NCAAs.

Yes, 2-1 and made a bit of cash. I might have some for tomorrow. I'm probably going out soon, so it depends on what time I manage to get out of bed tomorrow.

A good day was made even better when Declan's Moon capped off his undefeated season with a win in the Hollywood Futurity. I'm not sure if it locked up an Eclipse for him, but it will certainly make things a lot closer. I'm glad they did right by the horse and let him have his time. I was impressed by the length of his stride in the lane. I don't think his half brother will run like that. I see him as having a much shorter stride. We'll see in about 6 months or so if things go as planned.
