if it were to save my child from death. I'm for torture if it will save American lives from a terrorist attack. I would imagine I believe this because liberalism has not infected my mind.

Maybe you're for taking him down to the bath house with you and rolling around. I put American lives in front of these lower that scum terrorist. That's all.

Yep. Not much room for liberalism when your head is full of fascist wet dreams.

No you believe that because you're sick.

What one would do personally as an emotional response to an injustice done against one's family is very very different from the moral example a government must set. We Irish for example have an old tradition (pretty much dead at this point) off cutting of the hand that killed a family member and resting it on the grave of that family member so that the soul might rest, despite that I cannot condone the government setting a bad example using the death penalty.<!-- / message -->

NO Kaya, I believe this because I use my head. Exactly what a head is meant for. Say a terrorist has information that would save 1000's of innocent humans and this trash will not give the info after you've asked nicely then you do what it takes to save the 1000 innocent. Has liberalism completely warped your mind into thinking this trash deserves to be treated like a king while 1000's die. Put down the bong kaya.

game it doesn't matter how you twist your version of logic.

Torture is unethical and inhumane, there's nothing warped about being ethical or humane, who said anything about treating suspects like kings.

Also let me point out that your sophomoric example assumes the guilt of the suspect, in other words you would torture someone whether they were actually guilty or not on the chance that they may hold info, even sicker.

And what if the detainee has no information? Or what if they tell you what you want to hear only to stop the torture, wasting time and resources on wild goose chases? Or what if American's decision to ignore internationally held standards of detainment leads to future gov'ts ignoring the same when dealing with your soldiers?

There's a reason why we signed up to Geneva, and it wasn't for the bonus football phone.

Main Entry: soph·o·mor·ic
Pronunciation: <TT>"säf-'mOr-ik, -'mor-, -'mär- also "sof- or "sä-f&- or "so-f&-</TT>
Function: adjective
1 : conceited and overconfident of knowledge but poorly informed and immature

Just want to make sure you understand what the word means before we continue.

Your example is overly simplistic and makes an assumption which is what makes it immature. You assume the suspect's guilt and condone torture on the chance that it may produce info while over looking the fact that the suspect may be innocent or ignorant of the info you seek.

By your logic you would also condone a cop beating your son because your son might know which kid at his high school is dealing drugs and catching the dealer will save lives.
