Rams get all the action
Jason Lake

Anyone want to lay some cash on the Cleveland Browns? Anyone? Bueller?

The St. Louis Rams have been over-valued ever since the Greatest Show on Turf grabbed the Super Bowl and the media spotlight in 1999. Despite going 32-15 SU heading into tonight match with the Browns, the Rams are a disappointing 21-24-2 ATS since winning it all.

The way the betting public is lining up to support St. Louis in tonight's tilt against the Browns, it'll once again be tough for the Rams to cover. St. Louis opened as a four-point 'chalk', but the Rams are now looking at a 5 1/2-point spread on some books, including BoDog Sportsbook and Casino.

"With the road favorites, we always see money that way," BoDog president Rob Gillespie told Covers.com.

So it's not a simple case of people being in love with the Rams, especially on Monday Night Football?

"If this game were being played in St. Louis, I would expect the action to be fairly balanced, because the line would be St. Louis minus 10 1/2 or 11." Gillespie said. "It's just a case of people wanting to lay too many points on road favorites. Every road favorite, we're exposed - I'd say 99 percent of the time."

Exposure might be a good thing at certain entertainment venues, but not at the books, who stand to lose money if the Rams manage to cover against the Browns tonight.

Speaking of exposure, it's expected to dip below 30 degrees Fahrenheit during tonight's game at Paul Brown Stadium. St. Louis has already shown weakness outside the Edward Jones Dome, going 3-3 SU and 2-4 ATS. Playing in the Cleveland cold will be an even tougher test for the Rams. Cold means turnovers, and St. Louis quarterback Marc Bulger has already thrown 18 interceptions this season.

Amazingly, as the mercury is falling, the 'total' for this game is rising, from 43 at the open to 43 1/2. Cleveland is 4-2 'under' at home this year.
