Storm Cat has to be considered somewhere.

Storm Cat won $570,000 in his racing career, which lasted from 1985-1987. But in his second life, he was the most prolific and successful stud horse in the history of racing, at one point bringing in $500,000 per foal.
The numbers, from the Daily Racing Form, are staggering. Over 20 years he sired 1,452 foals, 462 of which sold at public auction for over $319 million. He sired 1,110 starters and 807 winners, including eight champions and 35 Grade/Group 1 winners.

Damn...

Pocketrockets (he wouldn't pass the drug test after the race)

Vlad (he would pee on the other horses in the starting gate)

Wilbur (he would run to the glue factory after setting the record for the slowest finishing time)

I'm very hurt by this post.

First girl I ever fucked lived on Gallant Fox. Yeah her parents didn't like me when the cops called them to pick up their 15 year old drunk daughter at a party. Entire neighborhood had horse triple crown people as streets

Bold Ruler- lost as betting favorite in the derby but came back to win the Preakness. He had so many great offspring besides
Secretariat but they were most notable as 2 year olds and milers, Bold Lad & Queen of the Stage come to mind. Sire of the year almost
every year in the middle & late 60's. A most to have.

Ribot great sire of long distance winners. 'If it's a mile & a half give me a Ribot' was a slogan in the mid 60's. I was at the Belmont
Stakes when Arts & Letters beat Majestic Prince after Majestic Prince had won the Derby & Preakness. When Majestic Prince did 1:12
for the first 6 furlongs I knew I had a winner with Arts & Letters. The next day a sportswriter wrote Majestic Prince was like a baseball
player trying to turn a double into a triple, he folded A & L did not.

Best horse I ever saw race was Dr. Fager though I don't recall hoe well he did as a sire.
