Punter wrong again, But what's new?
"figures lie and liars figure" is an old and often used proverb. As a matter of fact, it's used far more often than the "mathematician's proverb" Punter cited.
Now, if you don't believe figures can be made to lie, especially in politics, then Punter's proverb works better. To me, that's a tad bit naive. :drink:
