OU hasn't seen a defense anywhere close to what UF will bring to Miami. Top 5 vs top 50. Texas was the best D that OU faced all year - ranked 50 in total D, 59 in pass efficiency D, 18 is scoring D, 2 in rush D. Florida is better in every category by a mile except rush D.

OU's defense however will have a bitch of a time stopping UF - especially with a healthy Percy Harvin. You can pretty much guarantee 45 points for the Gators.

Don't have the stats in front of me, but I bet that TCU and Cincinnati both rate very well in defensive statistical categories, though their competition could be called into question a little, but the SEC hasn't exactly been an offensive juggernaut this year either.

And neither of those teams played anyone worth a shit all season other than OU.

OUs defense isn't that good. Giving up 28 to TAMU? 28 to Mizzou last night with OUs starters in the entire game. 45 to Texas. Do you really think UF's O is worse than UTs? OU gave up 41 to Okie State who runs a very similar offense with not nearly the depth or level of talent that UF has.

I haven't really dug in on this game yet, but OU will have a very difficult time in this game. They will score points of course - they are very good on O. But they haven't seen a team yet with the speed, depth, and attitude of these Gators. UTx was as close as they got and they LOST.

Second best conference? Which conference would you say is better than? I will say that the Big 12 is probably overrated, but it's still the top conference by far. The SEC might be the second best and that is sad because it is weak this year. Very down year overall.

As for your point I definitely think OU can beat Florida. Florida deserves to be the favorite though.

SEC is the 2nd best?

SEC is still the best conference in College Football

I can tell you one thing.

Oklahoma will not be able to stop Florida. Percy Harvin will be playing in his last game in college at Florida. He is dying to get out on the field. NO ONE can stop him in the college ranks, NO ONE. He is going to go out playing his best game. The guy is simply the most explosive and most incredible college player in the game today. Oklahoma does not have the D to stop them. In Florida's last 4 games they have played 3 defenses in the top 5 in total D. One of them without Harvin.

Now can Florida stop Oklahoma? I think they can control them however I do not know if they will be able to stop them totally. This actually should be a good matchup. Florida's D against Oklahoma's O.

Florida is scoring 50 in this game and Oklahoma upper 20s.

One thing that I think is going to be underestimated in this game is OU's defense. People will look at OU's pass defense and see they are giving up about 270 passing yards per game. But if you look at Texas, who is perceived to have a much better defense than OU, they are giving up about 260 ypg passing. Only about 10 yards difference. The total yards given up between Texas and OU is Texas is giving up about 350 ypg on defense and OU is giving up about 385. Despite giving up 270 yards passing, OU ranks in the top 10 in pass effeciency defense. This is because they've played some of the most outstanding pass offenses in the country. OU has played 3 teams who rank in the top 10 in total offense. And they played 6 teams who are in the top 20 in offense. And they just held another top 10 offense Missouri to 350 yards. Which is the same amount of yards and 10 less points than Texas held them to. The reason I use Texas in this equation is if you want to compare Texas and Florida's common opponent Arkansas, Florida's number 5 defense gave up 361 yards to Arkansas, and Texas gave up just 191. What I'm saying is the offenses in the Big 12 make the defenses look worse than they are. Just as the anemic offenses in the SEC make Florida's defense look better than what it is. This game with Florida and OU will be a much closer game than people think. You can't just compare numbers between these two teams. You have to compare strength of schedule.

I really interesting question will get answered in this game. Do the Big 12 defenses just look bad because they consistently play top offenses, or do the Big 12 offenses just look great because they consistently play terrible defenses?

Or do the SEC defenses look good because they have any good offenses?

One thing you can count on is that the SEC will ALWAYS have good defense. The offenses are down because of the huge turnover we had in QBs this year. But UF held down on UGA, LSU, Bama, and serveral other teams that were putting up points.

I think it's pretty easy to tell who has good D and who doesnt. Watching that pathetic Missouri team it's easy to see IMO that they have ZERO defense.

The Big 12 and SEC were similar this year I think because they were both top heavy with a few good teams and everyone else sucking.

The title game will be very interesting and I'm looking forward to getting into OU to see what I can uncover.

It should be an interesting game. I think both of these teams have such good offenses to where neither will be able to run off an hide from the other. It should make for a great game. We could see a game something like the Texas-USC game a few years ago.

They were telling Texas that about Reggie Bush too, that didn't work out too well for the Trojans. All I will say is that this will be a fantastic game... As long as OU shows up and doesn't tank the game like they have the last 2 years.

Yes Gators play Georgia, Alabama, and all the tough teams in the SEC but their loss was at home to Ole Miss who is a below average team.

That's just ridiculous. Ole Miss is a top-15 team. They may not have been when they played the Gators (did Hardy and Jerry play?), but they are now.

I want to see how OU plays when facing a legitimate defense. There are none in the Big 12.

Also ridiculous. UT has a legitimate defense. OU also faced a very legitimate TCU defense. Apparently, OU scores 35 points against legitimate defenses, and I think we're looking at a 35-34 ballgame between OU and UF.
