They will never move the Superbowl away from prime time, so the game would have to start around midnight local time and last up to around 3 a.m. in the morning. Don't know if they could really promote that as well as their current 6 or 7 p.m. regular season game...
Besides that the whole media crap would be hosted overseas. too, and players would probably acclimate themselves to the European timezone. So they really want players to gear up around midnight to play the biggest game during NFL season?

I really don't know how this should work out, much easier to play a regular season game like nowadays than doing the same thing with the superbowl because of the TV schedule...

Ya the time zone issue kinda makes this seem impossible anyway.

goodell is reaching for something...

anything...

that puts his mark on the history of the nfl...

he is trying that horseshit 17-18 game reg. season schedule...

which will not pass...

so i could see this happening...

they already screw one team over each year...

by losing one home game in london...

this all about goodell though...

dont let that fool you.

I think its a great move. The NFL is an international sport, so why not move it overseas? Also, have you ever been to London? AWESOME city. Been there for business and been there for the Tour De France. Those crazy Brits know how to host a sporting event. I'm all for it and I would be much more likely to go to a SB in London than a SB in fawking Florida (again!)

It is :think2: What team is in London ? Must have missed this in the Newspapers

They would play the game in the afternoon in London, therefore we would see it on primetime (game usually starts at 6:00 EST, so they would most likely play the game at 1:00 in the afternoon London time).

I don't like this idea one bit. But I got to tell you guys, NFL is becoming a very popular sport over in England. In fact, they even set up a league over there. Check it out:

But, the NFL is an American sport, and should be played in the US (I would make an exception, however, if they played the Superbowl in Toronto :>Grin>

Aren't they six hours AHEAD of us?

So if they played it at 1pm London time it would be early in the morning here.

Yes, you are right, my mistake... they are ahead, so they would have to play it at night and the game would therefore have to be moved from the prime time spot over here to the afternoon.

This just means that you haven't traveled very much. The NFL is seen by people all around the world. Europeans love it, Canadians & Mexicans love to bet on it and it's also very popular in Asia (but the NBA is even more popular).

Take some of that money from your watches and go travel . . . you obviously need to get out more

I just assumed that the Tour De France was in France........unless they moved London out of England.

  1. You're an idiot
  2. The Tour commonly visits other countries. In the past its gone through both Belgium and Spain. In 2007 it actually started in London. The prologue time trial was in London and the first stage left London and went south towards France. I believe there was another stage in England in 2008 but I cant recall for certain
  3. So, in conclusion, you're an idiot

LOL, You are a very funny guy. But I believe that I have Traveled Plenty in 50+ Years. Been to London Twice, Italy about a half a dozen times
all over South America, China, Mexico, Canada and Just about Every Island in the Eastern & Southern Caribbean.

Anyway, Now that I got My Travel is out of the way......

You could say all you want about People in England, Mexico, Etc... They might like to watch it... American Football....But Don't tell me they Love it.

You talk about Football to most, they think you are talking about Soccer !
That's their #1 Sport ! To them Football is Soccer.....After that, Rugby !
or Cicket !

Sure they fill that place up when American football comes there.
But that's because it's something Different to them.
They think American Football is BS, because of all the Gear that they wear.

So as much as that Love to BET on the game, they are Not in Love with the NFL. or the Game It self.

If you want to say that the Superbowl is an International Game to Gamble ??? Than, Yes it is.
Don't try to say it's an International Sport ! Because it is Not !

This would be disgusting.. Anyone who thinks this is a good idea is not American or is straight up retarded..

Sure, lets give up the best and biggest sporting event our country has ever seen and at the same time just get rid of a half billion dollars of revenue to stimulate the economy at this point in time.

I do see that ESPN is showing more and more European soccer here. Didn't know there was a demand for it. SInce when did globalization of sports become a good thing?

Wtf? That might quite possibly be the dumbest comment I've ever heard.

The reason why Japan/China produce many good MLB/NBA stars is because of the globalization of the MLB/NBA, especially when teams toured those countries and promoted the sport.

Do you think that every single European country is absolutely shit at baseball for some genetical reason? NO! It is because hardly anyone in Europe gives a fuck about baseball because it is barely promoted/shown on TV. Put a 'World Series' or 2 in the UK, and within 5-10 years time you'll see an influx of British baseball players.

Without globalization of a sport, the talent pool is extremely limited to only those that watch/play the sport. The next Babe Ruth may have already come and gone, but never have actually picked up a baseball bat in his life because he lived in Europe where most people couldn't even tell you 1/4 of the rules.
