they had 9 first downs hahaah dominate? gtfo

And the MVP went 18/41.....That`s a horrible line.

7 sacks.....The game is over...It`s in the books....24-10 Denver win.

17-1 team that was a 5.5 point chalk just got outplayed in all departments.

The Denver defense is what won the game. The fumbles weren't a matter of luck for these guys. Don't forget the sacks on Newton and the stops of the running game.

Exactly what I've been trying to tell him. He's a Carolina fan, so of course tonight was just a fluke though...

So Denver clearly early favs for Superbowl 51?

I mean, they would beat everyone 7 out of 10 atleast and the achilles of their team is retiring.

I dunno, I really think Denver could have moved the ball if they would have had to be more aggressive on offense. JMO

The few times Manning threw the ball down the field almost ended in Norman picks.

Norman actually had a bad drop at one point. Late 2nd I think.

Their offense is just limited.

It isn't like this is a small sample. Their offense was limited vs Pittsburgh and NE as well. They didn't exactly light it up vs San Diego in the season finale either and SD is terrible. I think we have an accurate representation of how good their offense is.

Carolina had many chances and just ended up doing nothing at all in the 2H. Everyone with a WTF just happened look on their faces. The better team won.

Carolina 8 times. Denver won simply because of 2 Turnovers deep in Carolina territory, and Carolina being nervous as hell. Denver can't move the ball on Offense. They would need Carolina to play like that again, and it's not likely they would too often. One of the worst Offenses on a Superbowl Winner ever.

I say Denver would win 6, maybe even 7.

The number of games played doesn't change the fact that Carolina just does not have enough weapons on offense to accomplish much against Denver's D...

Denver's not winning the series gaining < 200 yards, and their offense is by far the worst unit on the field

when you have 11 first downs, go 1 for 13 on third down, you dominated nobody

Denver would cover the 6 points 7 out of 10 no doubt.

They'd cover the 4.5 6 out of 10. You guys that think the Panthers would be 7.5 to 9.5 favorite at home are crazy. Too bad lines this bad are rare in the NFL.

I think the problem here is people are basing their decision on how this one game played out. You have a range with Denver winning by 30 going all the way to the other side with Carolina winning by 30 with all the other outcomes in between. The reality is that you never truly know where it will fall, but it will almost always land within that range.

Yesterday just happened to be Denver's day. They played tremendous defense, but their offense was incredibly putrid. I think a realistic assessment would be a 5-5 split with a 6-4 lean for Carolina.

The question posed here (no offense to OP) has little validity, IMO. This is primarily b/c the teams are somewhat even so if you played several series of "10 games" you'd likely have 6-4, 5-5, 4-6 outcomes as your predominant results.

I think this question holds more weight when you consider the 49ers/Chargers. And the discussion would center around 10-0 and 9-1.

But this is neither here nor there. The main thing that struck me was how a guy 6'6", 250 lbs doesn't dive on the ball with the Superbowl on the line. That was amazing.
