I'd suggest employing many thousands of the unemployed as C-19 rule enforcement officers. Get people back to work & kill the virus at the same time via enforcement. Kill two birds with one stone. Maybe even start with $1000 fines for first offences, or arrest & jail the covidiots. Hotels could be used for jailing purposes if the "accomodations" become full elsewhere. That could put hotel staff back to work rather than receiving free government payouts for doing nothing.
A million people dead already & another million suffering hospitalization, ICU, or long term negative health effects is not "the sniffles".
Without safety measures & treating C-19 like "just another flu" season you can make that 10 million dead & another 10 million suffering horribly already.
And the year isn't even over yet, while flu season is imminent.

Nah, it's a great idea. Many places are already asking citizens to report on C-19 offenders. Employing citizens full time would be even better, get them back to work & put C-19 out of work.
