next time either run him over or get out of your car and ask him to pound your hood one more time . then take his head and pound it against your hood .

head down and play some poker if youre bored.

I used to live in a bad neighborhood with $hitty neighbors, at best. It really wears on you. I now live in the desert where people either leave you alone or are very friendly. The amount of joy that adds to your lifestyle is incredible.

that's the thing. I would say i am in a great neighborhood. Not something too pricey but top of the line for middle class people. It's not just the neighborhood its everywhere here. I even had a lady working at as supermarket once say to me that I must be new here in Vegas becuase I was too nice. I asked her what was that suppose to meand and she said you will see, I now know what she means.

I hate to come down on Summerlin as I like the area a lot. Nice place. I want to say it is more of a Vegas thing than anything else.

Looks like another heavy Saturday. Been reading/following a lot of well respected posters at the forums at it seems most are off to great starts in CFB. Not sure if this is a good thing going forward.

Here is to a good day for all:toast:

Iceman - just curious how you did this weekend? Are you getting adjusted to more of a routine now?

I completely agree it's a Vegas thing not a Summerlin thing.
From store clerks to dealing with the power company the people are just as you described.
There is also that feeling that if you let your guard down for just a second someone will be right there to try and screw you over.

No, it's Summerlin........only thing we have probably ever disagreed on ICE.................Green Valley, overall, is better in my opinion.

Listen, I fell for the "west LV" trap when I lived there also so Im not slamming you...........but after 18 years, absolutely came to realize after about 9 years that GV was much better.

Had an okay weekend, lost a little but came back late yesterday to avoid a bad weeked. Did really well on my own plays in the NFL. Went 4-1 in the Hilton contest so that is good. I am now 8-7 which is 53.3%. All you can do is shoot for around 60% and the let the chips fall where they may. Just looking everything over it seems most are doing well in the contest. I think it has been an easy year so far for the sharps in the NFL. Fezzik (pro gambler) is 14-1 to start the year in the Hilton, cant do much better then that. If I dont win the contest I hope he does, I think it would be great as he is somewhat a spokesman for advantage gambling. the few times I have met him he has left me in awe on how passionate he is about betting.

Totals really got me yesterday in the NFL as I had mostly unders and mostly overs came in. It ruined a great day. Had a losing day on Saturday, my first CFB losing saturday. Overal for the month I am up around 4.5% ROI, which is great and well ahead of what i hoped. Throw in the bonuses and I am doing pretty good to start the year. Now we start to get into the meat of the football season. I need to turn it up a notch or two. I didnt feel good 2 of the nights last week and went to bed early and so come friday I felt a little backed up and rushed. I woke up saturday and told GF that I felt like I didnt have a great portfolio of plays for saturday and the results ended up showing that. It's weird but when I am in tune with betting I can almost look over my plays and the numbers i got and tell you if I am going to win or not. Hard to explain but i am sure most that bet know what i am talking about. Sunday was the complete opposite as I felt good about my plays for the week and the results were okay.

CFB saturdays are really franitc. Half of my plays come on gameday. Just a lot of stuff going on. I actually like it more than Sundays now, which is odd. Sudays are borderline boring as most of the work for the week is done for me. I went on the strip yesterday morning but basically seen nothing worth playing. I am just not seeing any lines really shaded on the strip like I thought I would. Maybe this will happen more with CBB.

The one thing I like about betting football and it's once a week thing is it is almost like a football game. You prepare all week for the weekend and the you basically get your results over 1-2 days. I kind compare it to being a football coach. If you put in the neccessary work/strategy in then hopefully you are prepared to play well on gameday and the results will show that. If that is the case I would give this past weekend a close loss and knock my record to 2-1 on the year.

Today seems to be a refresher day. I dont plan on leaving the house at all today. Maybe get done some things I have put off for the past week. The problem is after the weekend is over I am all fired up for the next week right away. I have been staring at all the screens since last night looking at openers. I am looking into playing with a cfb totals idea I have thought up but since I am not a computer guy it's all about the pen, paper and calculator but the weird thing is I have always liked to "crunch numbers". From what I have gathered I think CFB totals can be beat if you put the time into it. With all this free time I hope to be able to beat some of these sports with serious capping and all the extra time I have to find and play the best numbers. I know it wont be easy but i really dont have any excuses if I put the time in, we shall see.

Your still in everything. Just need to have a 4 week stretch of like 15-5. I even tore up that other contest we are in (4-0 with best bet). Needed to get back in these. Havent doe a really good job with them so far.

Check this out. Not sure whether to be mad or not. A coupld books in town have contests that where you pick just straight up in NFL. I obviously had Pats over Dolphins in all of these contest. 2 of my ballots have only 2 weekly losses for the week, one of which is the Pats game. Now I am pretty sure all good ballots had Pats so that Jags game is making me sick on how they won that as I had Colts. Now every week the winners have been 1 loss so I think I am done but I think they pay top 10 in both. Should be interesting. I have Chargers and 44 total points (playing it close, LOL) tonite. I still think I will fall one short as a lot of favs won yesterday. Either way that Colts game continues to sting a little.

Its gonna be real hard to catch Fezzik in the contest. Even if he goes just 50 percent the rest of the way, he would still be hitting around 58 percent for the year. Any more 5-0 weeks and you can forgot about catching him for sure. hes got the math on his side.

Like I said I am not concerned with catching anyone. Just trying put up a reasonably good number. I think they pay top 10%. I honestly hope he wins this thing but I think he would also tell you there is a LOOOONG way to go still and it's way too early to start even thinking that. There are a bunch of guys doing very well right now. Like I said it seems the "sharp plays" have been coming in with the NFL so far this year.

The one thing i would like them to do is get rid of the whole "stale" numbers. My guess (and i could be wrong) is that this will happen soon enough. Maybe have the machine there for the contestant's and have them have too play into the most current line when they play. If the market moves you can guarantee most are on it as one of their 5 plays in this current format. I have noticed a few places like Carib have adopted this approach this year. Makes it more of a handicapping contest.

Let me add there is a 10k bonus for hitting 67% winners in the contest. Wonder if anyone has hit their first 15 to start the year.

The winner of the contest was 15-1 so the Jags may have cost me. 10k to winner and 33 people tied for 2nd for $333 or something like that.

Stayed up till 2 am last night on the computer. Starting too get a routine down and feel way more orgainized. Not sure but that bring a feel of confidence to myself when I feel orgainized. Hopefully this translates to winning. Up at 7am tis morning.

Went downtown and hit about 7 books in less than an hour. Trying to slowly bring back most of my money from offshore and do most of my stuff in Vegas but I keep losing here and winning offshore.
