Ice, you can follow Pete Rozelle in the NFL, and as far as I'm concerned you are wasting your time. Concentrate on the #3, and mess around with assorted key total #s, and have some fun with your gal. Example--- Car -3 -15 Chic+3.5 -05. You can even get a middle opportunity(for the correct price) on the #3 if you can forecast line movement or injuries. Good Luck

I agree I made a killing 2 years ago around the #3. You know how profitable like a -3-110 and +3.5 -110 longterm? It's great. You are so right and it is something i will pursue. You still have to time some of this stuff when you bet it and that isnt easy either. i wish I could remember how i did this so well a few years ago. I will and need to start paying better attention to this in paricular going forward.

Iceman,

Still following your monthly thread with great interest. About this past weekend (i.e. 92 bets on Saturday as you said), you still made most of the plays online or is it now closer to 50/50% already (or still hammering down the driving/walking routes to books?).

Like you, I am fond of heavy volume, although I go by "Rx Lean" (following key cappers) but only 15-20 plays on a given day due to my very small remaining BR (mostly at Matchbook). That's the only pit of paying for our recent wedding, argh, but I am already building up the BR with a nice 57% record in the last couple of weeks.

I'll continue to read your thread, although at times, I don't get to give my thoughts or feedback. Keep writing those posts up!

Cheers,

* CalvinTy

Guys who talk about how much better offshore is than Vegas are forgetting how many units you can lose in one fell swoop if an offshore goes under.

I used to have 30 offshores. I have 5 now. That's how worried I am about it. I've never lost money from having an offshore go under. I even got out of Camelot and Aces Gold just in time. But I'd like to keep it that way.

There's good things about offshore and Vegas both (you can't physically lose your offshore tickets; can't get mugged in the parking lot, etc). A sharp bettor will use both. And considering how difficult and slow it can be to move funds around offshore, access to the Vegas casinos can come in very handy.

My goal was too put around 300k a month or so thru the books and win at 1-3%. This is taking all the past info I have gathered doing this for over 2+ years at a prtty high level.

I am going to be nowhere near 300k bet this month. The good news is I am winning at around 9% right now which I will never sustain in the longrun. That shows how good I have been going since I started this back up since I got here (knock on wood). Mostly all of my plays are now offshore. I am just so heavily funded there right now (around a dozen outs) and the conveince of it makes it so easy. I could look but would say close to 80% of last weeks plays were offshore and this may go higher going forward. I didnt get a chance to work poster mrmore's route so when i do later this week maybe I will do better getting more bets down. I look forward to that. I see little to no use to go out on the weekends and try and do this. Better off just popping numbers from home.

Also got my birth certificate in the mail today so I can get a nevada drivers license and can hopefully sign up at a few local books and play over the net and telephone.

I am debating on taking my new laptop back and going with a cellphone instead. Just felt too awkward carrying that thing around even though it is only 8 inches. Been leaving it home or in truck. Maybe on my seat of my truck and can check it from time to time. It is just so damn slow.

The days are just starting too fly. Looking back at my notes from years past September and espically October are 2 of the slowest months of the year gambling wise from a total number of bets point of view. Hoops is just right around the corner and has been my best sport (cbb) from a money making spot. So maybe can get the whole monthly volume thing up there.

probably

A new law just passed where the phone co cartel must pro-rate your cancellation fee (might be CAL only) - so it may be worth it to buy out the contract if that applies in NEV

make sure the new company has a tower near your house and you get a good signal. most co's have coverage maps online now....nothing worse than having a fucked up signal at home

buy phone off ebay = no more contract issues

I have zero use for my laptop anymore

Ice, like I once said to you before. Nothing wrong with Two cells

Buy the IPhone and get the lowest service plan you can get with AT&T
Should cost you about $60 a month

I would say get the LG Dare, which is Very Close to the IPhone, but it doesn't have WI-FI

You feel pretty confident the iphone would work well in a casino doing what i do?

I really like my cell phone service with verizion. I may go to at&t and tell them my story and see what they can come up with me for me. Worst case scenairo maybe I get another phone to use just for that if it is nice as i am hearing it is.

I signed up for this $60 a month plan for this new 8in laptop. I have 3 more weeks to decide if I want to keep it or I lose my refund. I am on the fence with this. It's not the money so much as I want to know what is best for what I need this too do, access Pinny lines on the dynamc lines screen at the sportsbooks in town.

.

it's a hell of a lot slower/more cumbersome than having two monitors working at home with broadband- but it certainly is do-able and you will get used to it. only problem,it doesnt have a password manager , those 10 minute logouts suck.....I would suggest the 3G. I'm also assuming you'll get a good signal inside the books. even better maybe they have free wi-fi?

Middle of the week. A few guys who do this for a living told me that wednesday during football season is their slowest day, I think that is tuesday for myself. I put in a few hours each morning during these days going thru a routine where I jot down plays from different sources on the net that I respect in CFB and then I try to find a good line by scannng thru my dozen or so offshore accounts. I pass unless I get a better than average number on these. I am always trying to time the market so to speak. This is not easy and I probably dont give myself enough credit for this but it is somewhat the goal. I always want to look back at a game see if I got the best number, if I didnt I usually pissed about it. I basically try getting orgainzied early in week and picking up as many +ev type plays/numbers hopefully. I usually go out just in the afternoon on these days and hit a few books for a few hours around town and see if anything stands out. I am home by 6 every night where I look for steam plays and also look again offshore for prices on games that I have written down. This is a typical middle of the week gambling day for me.

Thursday's and friday's are spent going out on a set route to some contests at certain books around town, I add in a few extra books that are close by these to fill in the time. I usually hit it for a few hours in the morning and a few hours mid-afternoon. I always carry 2 different sheets with me. One sheet has the updated Pinnacle lines on it. I will never take a price worse than the Pinny line. A few guys I know around town also preach that, you will be a loser overalll if you dont at least get a better line than Pinny and that isnt always easy. I will also fire away at any number that is off a Pinnacle number by a certain amount even if I had no idea I would bet the game, the ole "pinny lean" philosophy. Though this can be risky early in the week and I dont do as much as I thought I would be. The other sheet I carry is of teams that I have been looking for at certain prices all week and havent found yet. Most of the time these plays are made at home. Fridays nights I work on a project I will go further into detail about later. It usually takes me about 3 hours to do this. So far I am down about $600 doing this project but i think it will be worth my time.

I would say 50% of my plays for the week in CFB come from early week stuff. On game day I do some other things like follow steam, fade some stuff that crosses a key number and hits a new number 1st time all week, bet 2nd halfs, maybe some corralated parlays, etc.. With NFL 75% of my plays are before gameday. Most of my gameday stuff is just 2nd halfs and smaller prop stuff. I do cap a lot of my own NFL stuff and try and hit these as soon as the openers come out because there just doesnt seem to be much mid week line movement but this can be risky.

Weekends I have mainly sat home and worked my stuff on the computer. Saturday is an all day adventure for me. With games starting at 9am I am up and working this at around 7am, I actually get up every day at 7am so it's not that big of a deal. The good thing is most of it is done by 8pm at night. I went out for a little bit on Saturday but it seemed to not be worth it. Having a line serivce up all day saturday is great and I dont want to be to far from that during this time. Sunday mornings havent been as stressfull as saturdays so far with line movement for me. In fact they have been slower than i imagined. I have made sure to be around my computer around 5pm sundays for the NFL openers where I have been able to get pretty good numbers the past few weeks.

On mondays I try and do the stuff I have free time to do outside of gambling. Just your basic stuff. Throw in all day hitting the RX and a few other forums, walking the dogs and just researching other stuff and it usually makes for a busier day then I thought. I am not complaining but I am saying the days go way faster than I thought they would. I feel I get so much more done here at night when it gets dark. It's hard to explain but I seem to be in a better groove. I think a lot of that has to do with me still having that east coast mentality and feeling like I am always 3 hours behind everyone else. At night when it is 8pm here, it is 11pm on the east coast and now I feel like I have finally caught up to everyone I think.

This is basically how I have done it for the first few weeks here betting wise. Just a brief description of what seems to be a typical week. There is a lot more minor stuff like movey money around, running some errands, etc.. It seems to be working out faily well so far. I may even drop the mid week going to in town sportsbooks as I am not sure they are worth the time. It has been a little less running around then I imagned but football is a once a week sport more or less. A lot of this will change when hoops start up. I plan on slowly getting out of a lot of my offshore accounts now that the good bonuses are pretty much gone and doing a lot more stuff in town with hoops, where an extra half point can be way more important. Most of this stuff is hit and miss and I am changing it every week. I have learned a lot just exchanging ideas with other locals espcially over the net, thank god for that. It all boils down to managing my time the best. Hitting the most books in the fastest amount of time so i get down the most +ev amount of plays I can find.

once you get your residency in the state of Nevada will you be able to place bets over the net in another state once you have signed up at these books for their online service? That sounds great if you can. I never knew that they took wagers over the net. But i imagine they would have to because you dont have time to place halftime bets with al the poeple wanting to do that.

my understanding is u have to be in NEVADA to place bets over the net.

Im not sure if a NEVADA resident can place bets if "on holidays" in another state or another country, but I dont think so.
