I am trying to to work on swaying you a little a each day. I think I am getting a little closer. This is hard work. Hope that "you only live once" speech I had last nite worked.:103631605

Hey Billsey,
Some people are just meant to do certain things in life and be in certain places. It's just the way it is. It's almost their calling. Come out for a year or two and give it a try. Plus you have a friend here in Mrs. Iceman, god knows she needs one in Vegas(LOL). Ask Dante, you would love her. You guys would have a lot in common I can tell. Who knows maybe we could have a dual wedding in the future:think2:. Plus the way Fish has been talking lately it's time for him to get back to work!!!:nohead:

Now your talking. It is a very nice town. The main reason the misses likes it is cause of all the trees and how many parks and stuff around town. They do a great job working on the landscaping here. It makes it have more of a non las vegas feel. For all you know when you are in Summerlin the whole Vegas life is millions of miles away.

How far do you live from Angel Park(if they still call it that).

Right now looking at......

VEGAS/RENO
IDAHO
WASH
OREGON
VANCOUVER
MONTANA
COLORADO
TENNESSEE
IOWA
MISSISSIPPI
MISSOURI
SAN DIEGO

IRELAND
NOVA SCOTIA

(not in order), although your thread has moved Vegas near the top. After living there 18 years, it feels like home and I do miss it.

lifestyle from LV to Iowa/Mississippi. The climate situation would one of my main considerations. Can't stand heat. Miss. would be dead last in ANY list. 1st Van., 2. Reno/Tahoe, 3. Wash/Or, then Mon, Ireland. As you can see I don't mind chilly or rainy. I've been to NS and it's beautiful but takes some getting used to. LV is fine and I've spent a lot of time ther from mid Oct to March. No later in the yr not for me.

Fish,
why Nova Scotia or Irleand?

What do you plan doing for a living in any of these places?

Silver,

What do you like about Vancouver.? I am looking into there myself. Rainy cool weather is probably my favorite to be honest with you.

Something tells me you are finding the local poker circuit profitable.

Here in Florida?

Yes, profitable, but to the extent that it's really not worth my time and effort on a consistant basis........especially when it is not overly enjoyable to me, although at times it can be.

Buying and selling at the local auction houses is 10x more entertaining......and profitable.

I hear ya!!

I have thought about Oregon, Vancouver, and Maine also............however, Billsey says she cannot handle the cold.

I guess Oregon and Vancouver wouldn't be brutally cold.

I always thought of living on the ORE/WASH border..........on the Wash side,............ no income tax in WASH and no sales tax in OREGON.

Think I would really like Oregon or Washington to live.
You are right on ! So many live in Vancouver Washington or Camas or Hazel Dell and simple cross the bridge into Portland Oregon. Only the mighty Columbia river seperates Washington from Oregon. Low property taxes in Washington and no sales tax in Oregon ! No brainer IMHO !:103631605:toast:

Well week 1 of "betting for a living in Vegas" is in the books. Pretty solid week for me though yesterday sucked with all the teaser's crashing and burning.

Once again I have to complain about the time difference and how much more I feel behind on gamedays. Woke up Saturday at 7AM (which is only 2 hours from the first games kicking off). I decided to stay home and bet lots of 2nd half's. Overall most of my CFB work was done before saturday so i just focusd on 2nd halfs and I bet 26 of them (went 12-14). Overall I had a solid day on the betting front. Made 87 plays for the day but most were msaller than norml and won almost 10 units so was very happy. The one good thing about starting early is you are done early, by 8pm it was all over.

Sunday was a whole different story for me. Felt really annoyed with everything and uncomfortable making my plays and being rushedand beind. I have to have this feeling of being orgainized or I dont do a good job, hard to explain but I felt out of it yesterday from the word go. Had to get out of some big plays I made earlier in the week and tried to middle/scalp some things. Nothing really feel right all day. I went up to the Red Rock to specifically bet TB +3.5, as it was the only place I seen with it on Sunday. What a mess that place was, people lined up thru the whole sportsbook at 10:30. I ended up going home and just making some small plays and watched the Lions game (yuck!!). I stayed away from NFL 2nd halfs. The whole +ev teasers crushed me. I am a little upset I put so much money into them and not more into the stuff I studied and shopped for all week like NFL sides. I need to play to my strenghts going forward. Overall I lost 5 units or so for the day.

Going forward I need to realize you can really exploit the NFL futures and week 1 lines in the middle of August. I made a note of that and will look for that next year. The key for me is patience and when to pull the trigger on any bet. I dont bet all of them at their apex or close to and sometimes I miss badly but that is the ultimate goal for me trying to get the best price all week, which it should be for everyone who bets half way serious.

I wanted to get off to a solid start and so far I think I have. The bonuses game helped out quite a bit getting me going. I really want to do well this week to get a cushion going as I feel the first few weeks can be important for me to set a tone doing this and mentally to get ahead. Its a LOOOONNNGGG year for me but it would be nice to play with their money.

I have 3 books within 3 miles of me and will frequent them quite a bit. There are 6-8 books within walking distance down by Feemont between LV Blvd and main st and I will hit them a lot also. I have a daily route of where and when to hit the others, mostly revolving around contests I entered (only decided to enter 7 conests). Stil not sure how or if I can exploit this fully. I am trying to hit 2-3 every morning and 2-3 books in the evening but like I said not sure this is even neccessary or the best use of my time. I will learn more the longer I do this. I am in at 10 offshore books right now and they handle the majoity of my wagers. The thing with Vegas is the public will drive up a favoirte right before the start of the game so if you look hard enough you can find some good numbers but the key is getting to and from them fast enough for it too be worth it. Like last nite Chicago got up to +10.5 in parts of town, noe of my best had that I noticed but I didnt look closely either. I will admit it does feel good making a bet and getting paid right after the game is over. You really have to keep that whole thing orgainized with all the tickets. Just not use to all that. I have the 8 inch laptop ready to go and will be taking that out with me also. I think I will be hitting vegas sportsbooks right before kickoff of games, as this is the best time to do that and there is the most violatility in line movements at the time (obviously). It does seem most of my work should be done by then and I wil be focusing on a handful of games I never found a great number at so I passed and maybe something popped up last minute or just go there to take advantage of anything the sportsbooks wants to throw out at you to take (like Chicago +10.5).
